Teams should start planning for 2020 season and beyond

There’s gonna be a lot of similarities between them and GSW, but I think what Boston has done is even more impressive. They’ve taken dudes who were just above bum status and made them have superstar moments repeatedly. Stevens has turned guys like Baynes, Olynyk, Avery Bradley, fellas that were cogs into their own men. Horford was good, but now he’s elite. Smart and Rozier too. GSW had it a tad bit easier cause most of their draft hits were pretty promising in college and most of their vets were already elite at one point or another.

Regardless of how well Brad has done, they have to make it to the finals and win. GSW’s vets are a product of their great drafting (people want to come play for them, plus they are tapped for $ with contracts). I also, wouldn’t say it was easier. Let’s not act like Klay, Draymond and Steph we’re consensus top 5 picks like Tatum, Brown and Smart. Also as good as Iggy was, I could never call him elite; same with David west. Seems like GSW had a system in play and stuck with it; again besides Durant, there is no player who is top 3 at their position in athleticism. What GSW has done is pretty hard

If everyone is tanking, someone's gonna wind up being bad at it and make the postseason. The results won't be better until better players are created.

nikkas need to stop forgetting about all draft picks we have stockpiled. The Celtics already have a great roster with the potential to get even better through the draft and through trades.

I just felt like Boston had more project players to make work into a system while GS had an image in mind and were blessed to hit on a lot of guys that fit that system (length, high ball IQ, adept shooting, decent floor vision across the board). Of course these are all things that have to be honed and Draymond was certainly a project. But they had a pretty good “diamond in the rough” sequence between guys like Bell, Cook, Clark, McCaw, Looney etc.

It’s really about what you consider harder, turning guys already in the L who weren’t real system players into high level cogs that all believe they can be stars or drafting guys who just needed to be molded and making them buy in. I’m thinking about the two franchises whole recent run in that regard, not just the current teams

With a healthy kyrie and Hayward yes they are there B team is about to get them to the finals breh. Bostons system with everyone healthy and another year of growth for their young guys can go against GS. GS will always have the talent advantage but Brad Stevens ability to scheme on defense and draw up plays in crunch time is something no other team brings to the table against GS.
