people downplaying what it takes to get into one of these big tech companies are out of their mind. they predominately hire from ivy league schools, MIT, stanford and some UCs. that's the best of the best employment pool.

Armchair commentators, never worked these gigs a day.

Here's what happens.

They get washed out during the screener round and instead of improving they run to forums like, "well I'm not willing to do that."

Hard no. NGMI.

I’ve worked with people who worked at these companies breh, I’ve seen the “caliber” of them first hand. Person I worked with for two years, same project (team was four people) now works at FAANG.

Smart, yes.
Genius smart? Nah.

Cool. All the answers, why aren't you there...killing it?

Can almost bet the house you didn't make it past screener.

"Man, I could've been a Navy SEAL, it's not that difficult."

You got it man. :lolbron:

You’re trolling man, so I’m not interested in talking about this anymore tbh.

Back to ordinary discussion for me. If anything, I know to take your commentary with a grain of salt now.

You're the ultimate troll. You don't work FAANG, have never worked it, haven't attended any of the schools we've discussed. Probably never been on campus. Talking to people who have without even realizing it.

Again, this is all fine.

But stop trying to sound smart on a sports forums based on some YouTube videos you watched.
Ultimate lame shyt. :aicmon:

If it's that easy, go do the thing first, then talk about it.

Ok. But stop overrating them people too.

I’ve literally worked with them on an Engineering level with deadlines, it doesn’t sound like you have.

I’m sure there are a lot of very smart ones, but a lot of them also got lucky, let’s be honest. Many will tell you that themselves.

Ah. I can see why you've been stuck at some shyt school and some shyt company for 20 years or whatever.

Best of luck man. 👍

Getting back on track. I want to offset alot of this doom and gloom.

The truth:

"Honestly, anybody who's a computer scientist should not be retired right now."

"There's just never been a greater, sort of, problem and opportunity — greater cusp of technology,"

From Business Insider:

Meta is expanding the ranks of its lowest-rated employees in mid-year performance reviews, a move that could lead to more performance-based cuts.

Meta is telling managers to put more employees in "Below Expectations," the lowest performance bucket during this year's mid-year performance reviews, according to a memo shared on Meta's internal forum on May 14, which was viewed by Business Insider. For teams of 150 or more, Meta wants managers to put 15-20% of employees in the bottom bucket compared to 12-15% last year.

The mid-year performance review process is "an opportunity to make exit decisions," according to the memo.

It's not a skill issue my guy, a lot of technical jobs are getting exported to outside the country. These are facts man.

Stop being a hack.

The hacks aren't working anymore.

Unlocking the Hidden Tech Job Market

Similar to what my man Levy said in season 3, there are no secrets. There are no hacks.

Stop looking for dumbass shortcuts, put the work in and add value.

Outsourcing vs. Offshoring: Why Consumers Push Back on Jobs Sent Abroad

Key Takeaways

  • Consumers judge offshoring more harshly than automation or outsourcing — especially when the brand feels local and the jobs aren’t just lost, but sent away.
  • Consumers expect companies from “here” to stand by their own. When local firms offshore jobs, the backlash is harsher than for global players.
  • Offshoring brings reputational risk that builds slowly but runs deep, sharpened by political scrutiny and the speed of public backlash.

Again, overall hiring since '20, up around 20k employees.

# employees increased by 10% last year.

Absolutely should be culling the fat. If you have some talent, skill, ability, no better time to be in tech.

In terms of perks, projects, compensation, etc.
