The problem is where are outlets? As individuals we can have all the anger and desire to send a clear message but it means nothing without the strength in unified numbers to back it up. Where's this generations NOI, Black Panther Party, UNIA?
I've felt for some time now that we need to take control of our local politics.
The dems aren't getting it done. The Congressional Black Caucus isn't getting it done. They have like 40 members but barely seem relevant to our community....Or to politics at large. Why don't any of these people ever have any major legislation on the table?
While we wouldn't have much of a chance at senate seats (And certainly not the white house), we could put place black leaders with civil rights as their main agenda as mayors, house members, state senators, etc.
Local politics...THAT would be our starting point. A "National Black Progressives" (Or whatever the name would be) with a party platform focused on us and our sensibilities...without "oversight" from the dems or feeling like we need to concede on issues to follow their platform.
We could have major cities flying the red, black, and green....if we just took some risks.
This would also at least partially negate some of the problems that those other groups you mentioned had....whites pretty much openly killed the leaders of those groups, they had no protection from our government. While I would never put any form of evil past the Caucasian race, it would be a lot more difficult for them to take out members of Congress than just community organizers.
It's an idea....
I feel what you're saying though.....we've got police officers doing whatever they want against us in New York....redlining and housing discrimination in the north west....Mexican take-over in South West....Florida...being Florida....it's hard to even begin to think about how we can pull all of this shyt together and unify on some sort of plan. Not to mention that, in my experiences at least...our Tyler The Creator fatherless youth generation doesn't even seem to care...or even have the critical thought to understand how white supremacy is ruining their potential. We just wanna smoke weed, 'pawg hard', bbq, and dance to some of the simplest music imaginable.
