I've heard Todd McShay kind of compare McCarrron to this years Russell Wilson. Experienced QB that's a winner. I agree with you on Thomas, im not a fan. But teams will love his height & big arm.
See i wouldn't take any QBs after the main 3 before the fourth. Just not a fan of any of the other QB's. But i don't think i would take Bortles in the first round. 2nd round i would all day. I honestly never have been a fan of Murray, don't know why. Wouldn't surprise me either if Murray went before Boyd either. He has a somewhat better resume, also played against better competition, along with being a more polished QB.
Because Barkley really isnt that good. Also Chip isn't going to go into next season with just two QB's. Boyd is a little more of what Chip wants in his QB's. But Boyd is going to have to clean up his decision making.
Height, mobility, arm, velocity, accurate deep passes, there are a lot of reasons why vertical based systems like Logan Thomas. Even with his feel for the game, accuracy in general, consistency which tends to be shaky. Anyone who drafts him should sit him for at least 2 to 3 years.
McShay is nuts on that statement, McCarron isn't that talented but he does lack those flaws that would make him have no shot at starting. At for a pocket QB, he is pretty sound. Some liken him to Dalton, don't see it. Or Matt Schaub, don't see it. But I think he is similar to Matt Ryan a little bit. Not as tall but a little more mobile. He can be a good QB but can he be great is the question. I am still mad at him not showing up to the Senior Bowl but given the lack of weapons the QB's had to work with, I can't blame him. It would have been a bad decision. The Sr Bowl didn't do justice for any QB. I can see McCarron getting into the 1st round. His tape will actually help him out majorly. He should do well in workouts and the combine so I have high expectations for his stock improving.
Manziel is the one who's stock will fall. His gametape will scare teams. If a team drafts him in the 1st round, they fall in love with him. He will look very good as a rookie and even as a 2nd year player but can be exposed. Like I said earlier, he is Matt Stafford like in the way they play in the pocket but he's Vick in the way he plays out of it. That doesn't means he has the tools of Stafford or the tools of Vick but his playing style is like a combination of the two.
