Had a feeling he was gonna pull this out. Been playing great this year and he's a local kid with local knowledge of this course.
Might be the best young golfer out there right now. Turned pro after the US Open last year and made his first 22 cuts, second to Tiger. He now has 3 PGA tour wins, including a major and 2 runner up finishes.

He stared down the current number 1 player in the world 3 weeks ago and beat him straight up in a playoff.

Dude has ice cold blood in his veins. Good pick.

Man this has to be one of the greatest tee shots in major history, right? I know its a little different w/out the crowd, but still..:whew:

Yeah easily. My power went out yesterday when they were down the stretch so I didn’t get to see this live :sadcam:

16th hole on a Sunday with everyone bunches up at the top of the leaderboard. And in one swing you pretty much won the championship :wow:

More importantly he converted the eagle. I think Wolff missed 3 puts within 4 feet in the back 9 that could have gotten him -13.

Morikawa's mental makeup is off the charts. Him beating JT in a playoff earlier this year including sinking a 25ft putt to force another playoff hole was insane.

OH MY GOD!!! Lose a shot at the US Amateur because your caddie tested the sand brehs :mindblown:

After battling for 17 holes in the Round of 16 at the U.S. Amateur, golfer Segundo Oliva Pinto saw his second shot land in a bunker on the 18th hole. That’s where his bid for the most prestigious amateur title in golf would end.

Tied with Tyler Strafaci going into the final hole at Bandon Dunes, Oliva Pinto ended up automatically losing the 18th hole when his caddie made the grave error of hopping into the bunker and touching the sand, apparently to test its texture.

As it turns out, you can’t do that.

U.S. Amateur golfer loses in brutal fashion
Specifically, Oliva Pinto’s caddie violated this part of Rule 12.2 in the USGA rulebook:

b. Restrictions on Touching Sand in Bunker

Before making a stroke at your ball in a bunker, you must not:

Deliberately touch sand in the bunker with your hand, a club or rake or any other object to test the condition of the sand and learn information for your next stroke

Not much wiggle room there. Oliva Pinto’s caddie was clearly touching the sand, though he would later deny what was clearly caught on camera. That was all it took to put Strafaci 1-up and hand him the win.

The golfer who lost by his caddie’s own hand was stunned after it happened.

“I ask my caddie what happened, and I’m completely shocked,” Pinto said, according to Golf Channel’s Ryan Lavner I’m just trying to make an up-and-down and win the match.”

At stake at the U.S. Amateur is an invitation to the following U.S. Open, Masters and British Open, so the loss here is not insignificant for Oliva Pinto, who currently plays for UNC Greensboro.

I’m excited as hell. My buddy just invited me to join this amateur golfer Facebook page. They’ve got events goin on every weekend here in central Florida. It’s a bit intimidating because I’m not as good as you dudes, (I shoot low 90’s consistently.. I lose way too many strokes off the tee box) .. but I’ve seen some of the scores. I think I’ll be alright.

I just need to get better from this Rona shyt and I’m gettin in there.

Crazy inconsistent. Slice used to be a big deal, but the more I played, the more it became a fade.

I think a lot had to do with my mentality. I’m 6’6, so i assumed I was supposed to just swing hard as hell and out drive everyone. I’m a natural baseball player, so i always had great club head speed. My mechanics would just go to shyt. No matter how great my swing felt. I’d top balls too. Not a lot.. like on some 12 year old shyt.. but.. I don’t know.

I never got fitter for a driver though. I honestly didn’t even know that was a thing until recently. I knew getting fitted for irons was normal, so I did that. Problem is, I bought some Cobra Amp Forged irons 8 years ago.. new. I had no idea they were considered players’ irons. I just liked the way they looked. And I think my game struggled because of it. I’ll be copping a new set by the end of this week. If I can’t find a used set of what I want on FB marketplace or eBay, I’ll just buy a set that I found at PGA Superstore here in Orlando.

My bad, I went off there. :lolbron:
