NYC rap is the reason why people dress the way they do, why they talk with so much slang now, and why being a "thug with style" is popping all over the world. The dressing styles started in the late 80's, and everything else started in the mid 90's. When you look back to the early 90's, NYC rappers were saying the craziest shyt they can. Rap was way more crazier back then. Southern hip hop was NOTHING like NYC hip hop at the time, it wasn't until the late 90's, early 2000's that shyt started changing with them.

We started this shyt, and we gotta take responsibiltiy for hip hop going a different way, and not mostly for the good.

It's not a matter of not liking southern hip hop. If you were around in NY (or the Tri State area) during the 90's/early 2000's then you know there was way more diversity than hardcore or mafioso rap. De La Soul, Outkast, Tribe, The Roots, X Clan, The Pharcyde, Pete Rock & CL Smooth etc...And even though NY rappers were dressing like street nikkas the diversity in the music was always there even though NWA ushered in the mainstream gang culture & "gangsta" rap. My point is NY filtered a lot of the bullshyt rap & if you didn't have skills you weren't gonna make it & there was no lane for you. The south opened floodgates of terrible "rappers" going mainstream, stripper culture in hip hop, & most of the fukery we see today

Everything you do is based off emotion when you try to back out cuz you can’t reply:

1) pull some old shyt out of your ass to detrail the thread or person you’re talking to and use some elementary ass name to call them.

2) claim you’re done speaking with someone cuz you’re too busy (then you’re right back to replying 20 times)

3) after 20 replies you try to use #2 again and say you have better things to do, then say something to the effect of, “isn’t _____ in your city, go do that instead of replying to me”.

3a) in my situation, you fake like you’re gonna put me on ignore but as you can see, you won’t.

4) at this point people are tired of going back & forth with you, so when they try to end the convo, you start explaining why you won’t shut up, followed by an attempt to try and call them out of their name again (see #1)

4) next reply you’re gonna tell me, “I’m glad you’re so invested in me...” or “no, that’s only for you.”

Black dudes salivating over Latinas is part of the problem. There are Blacks in Latin American countries. Hell, the majority of Africans in the slave trade ended up in those places . Latino men and latin culture doesn't praise and drool over Black women in these places the way Black men drool over mixed race Latinas.

Black folks give Latino people the red carpet when it comes to treatment. We grew up in the same city and Ricans were given a level of courtesy/respect from Black people here that I never saw extended to their fellow Black people from the islands or the continent.
