Black folks give Latino people the red carpet when it comes to treatment. We grew up in the same city and Ricans were given a level of courtesy/respect from Black people here that I never saw extended to their fellow Black people from the islands or the continent.

First off, the reason why black americans were closer to PR's then black foreigners is because they were here first! Even then both groups didn't get along that much. In prison in the 80's & 90's, PR's ran the the jail, and were shytting on blacks, this is why the Blood gang was formed in the first place! You never asked why they were called 'Germans"?

Secondly, at least in NYC, EVERY group was beefing with each other UNTIL hip hop changed a lot of things in the early- mid 90's. AND even then, it depended on where you live. A latin who lived in certain parts of Brooklyn or Queens doesn't necessarily think like one who lives in certain parts of the Bronx or uptown. I thought you were from old NYC?
