No disrespect intended. I'm just always surprised to hear people say American law is based on the Bible, let alone the Ten Commandments, specifically.I don't have a problem with religion as far as what your beliefs are, but when your beliefs interfere with the progression of the human race and interfere with the pursuit of happiness of others, you need to be bushed, and that's the problem right now.If you need the words written in a stone to tell you how to be a good person in society, you lost.
Religion is the single most dangerous thing man has ever created. Do you know how many awful things have happened in human history as a result of religion? Mass Tortures, Genocide, Wars, Suppressing Populations and People, Inquisitions, Corruption, Child Molestation, Terrorism.....the list goes on and on.
fukk all religions. Hope I live to see the day when they are outlawed worldwide and anyone caught practicing them are burned at the stake like a witch trial.
Same people who love the idea of this and had no problem with it would be tripping if it were a monument of sharia lawkeep religion and state separate
If America were a Muslim country and had a Muslim majority then I honestly wouldn't mind.
Unconstitutional. Americans can have any God or gods they want.
Unconstitutional. Americans have freedom of speech, including artwork, and can install any art they want on their private property.
Unconstitutional. Americans can say anything, barring calls for violence that present a clear and present danger.
Unconstitutional. Americans can do whatever they want on Saturdays. Most of them seem to think Sunday is the Sabbath, too.
Unconstitutional. You can't be legally compelled to be nice to your parents. It's generally a good idea, but some parents are real a$$holes and shouldn't be honored. The Biblical figure Lot, for example. When a gang of rapists came to his house and demanded the butt cheeks of the men who were staying with him, Lot said "You can't rape my guests. Here, have my daughters instead."
Unless God tells you to.
Or you're in the military.
Or somebody's breaking into your house and your Republican state has the Castle Doctrine.
Good advice, but inconsistent with US law.
Unless you're stealing land from Canaanites.
Ask my attorney.
Unconstitutional. Coveting is free expression.
I see the Lord thinks wives are property and slavery is within the rules, though.
Well outside US jurisdiction. And Hammurabi already erected stones with laws on them. Hov is a biter in ancient times and modern.
@Anwulika In summary, this is why Ten Commandments monuments keep getting taken down from government areas. It's an establishment of religion that's not allowable by US law. The law is secular, with occasional lip service to ceremonial deism, and some wiggle room for traditional religious civil arbitration.![]()

I have no issue with secular law, in fact, I support it in certain instances. However, this was an act of terrorism so I cannot condone it. If the terrorist had gone through legal means to take down the monument then I honestly wouldn't have cared but he didn't so I, and every other Christian, have the right to feel indignant about it.

America is a secular country though. Who the majority is doesn't matter.
You're just as ignorant and intolerant as the people you claim to hate. Many of these things have happened and will continue to happen without any religious doctrines.

Act of terrorism? Come on breh, what he did was against the law and he was arrested and he will get punished for it, but that monument shouldn't have been there in the first place.
What else would you call someone purposely driving into a state/religious monument?

Difference is I don't pretend to be tolerant cause it's a righteous, God's word thing to do while being intolerant of others beliefs behind closed doors, in my private circles, etc.
Religion is dangerous. I'll wear that on my sleeve forever.![]()
Vandalism?
Definitely not terrorism.
