Where y'all stand on Derrick Henry and Frank Gore :leostare:

I'm one who is probably more strict with who I would induct, but Henry is an absolute first ballot lock.

I understand Frank Gore is third in all-time rushing yards, but I don't think he should get in. He had a very very good seasons, but you could never say he was THE best HB in the NFL or even top three for a sustained period of time. He was a very good player for a long period of time, but those seasons from 2015 until the end of his career were not dominant seasons, but he was just able to rack up a large total of yards. That doesn't move the needle for me.

Gore 50-50? It's crazy to say but Gore sounds underappreciated? The man is 3rd all time in rushing yards. Gore is one of the players where the eye test doesn't match the stats. When you watch those niner teams, you see Gore being a monster,, workhouse, breaking tackles, almost carrying the 49ers offensively during the Alex Smith years. Meanwhile you look at his stats and there's no 1600-2000 yard games. Or rushing tds

Yeah, those 49ers teams were bad in Gore’s first 6 seasons (usually the prime years for a RB). Defenses often stacked the box but Gore was still able to be very productive.

He didn’t have much breakaway speed (those serious injuries at The U), and often would miss a couple games a year during this time frame, but you could see how good he was while dealing with stacked boxes and numerous offensive coordinators. He was so good at making himself a small target and keep moving the chains. He was also great at blocking.

He also might have gotten more HOF support if they had been able to complete the comeback and win the SB against the Ravens. He would be the likely MVP of the game. I think they should have ran it again with him when they came close, but someone else ran the ball and Kaep kept doing those fukking failed fades to Crabtree.

Ya'll the same folks that say Mike Evans consistency shouldn't be rewarded.

I think Hof should factor in when/how people get these records. Gore got it from being close innhis prime and hanging around. Do you reward that he was close and got it or penalize that he got the record in the career equivalent of garbage time.
I mean longevity should be rewarded. Also coaches weren't running Frank Gore into the ground with 300 carries every season.

You would think for an offense so reliant on the running game that Gore would have more total carries per season. But he stayed in that 220 to 250 range

I dont see why it has to be one size fits all. Why cant both consistency/longevity and doing a lot/reaching a stupid peak in a short period of time be rewarded? Its the Hall of Fame...you can be significant to the history of the game for different reasons.

Frank Gore is a first-ballot hall of famer. That is it. That is all.

As far as Terrell Davis, he was the most productive back of his peak years of activity and in half the time, he racked up accolades that most RBs don't see unless they play 10+ years.

Absolutely not.

There is not way he gets in on the first ballot, and he may not even make it.
