Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
getting to the second round after being out of the playoffs for so long would be HUGE for player experience
what are you talking about?

especially considering that the core of this team is under 25

The East is historically bad this season, getting to the playoffs isn't that great. Look at the Bobcats, is anyone going to say they have a dope core?

And speaking of the core, you say they are under 25, yet the most important player on the team is turning 28 next month and is having the best season of his life, which also happens to be during a contract year :ld:

I don't think he's going to get that big contract, especially with so many teams being locked into a starter already and those who have the cap space in the offseason are not going to be interested in Lowry. But I agree, this team is on that 2006-07 road to nowhere. They needed to tank this year to get a franchise player and Masai half-assed it by not trading Lowry right away. This Raptors team reminds me too much of those late 2000 Atlanta teams...a lot of great young talent, but they're not really good enough to go far and none of those talents are franchise changing.

Yeah, they are basically setting themselves up to be a middle of the road team, and the Magic could sign Lowry this offseason which makes this even worse.

you will never win in this league without some key vets. I'll take Lowry's leadership with core of Demar, Val and Ross and build on that.

plus the cap situation is looking pretty good for the future

winning is winning bruh. I don't care how weak or how strong the conference is. winning is winning. they are building a solid foundation that will be able to sustain winning.
the defines is solid and tops of the league.

Breh, Lowry is in a contract year, why are you missing that?

Caproom is only valuable when you're in a desirable market, or you're rounding out your roster. I think Toronto is a dope city, but NBA players don't seem to want to sign there, so who exactly are you going to sign with all that space?

You better hope the Magic can draft Ennis or Smart too, cause if not they gonna be looking at Lowry like :shaq:

Yeah, they are basically setting themselves up to be a middle of the road team, and the Magic could sign Lowry this offseason which makes this even worse.
middle of the road(3-6 seed) is a far better option than being a tanking team continuously or barely making the cut at 7-8

bobcats, wizards and hawks will all make the playoffs this year, meaning they WON'T be drafting high or getting any lottery pick
Brooklyn and new york mortgage their future so they won't be great
cleveland has done REAL great with their tanking and drafts lately

Orlando and Milwaukee need way more than one lottery pick to improve.

Philly and Detroit might be fighting for a low seed. and Boston is....well...not sure where they will be.

Looking at the future I see the raps being able to compete in the playoffs for a while now. As long as Masai continues to add solid pieces. and fix the problems then we will be just fine

this upcoming Draft is looking more and more overrated every day

what's your point? he's the number 1 option taking the most shots. just watch him play, he's not even the best player on the team, kyle lowry is and he's by far the worst player in the clutch.
StFu man. Nobody that actually watches the games would have anything bad to say about him. He is being a leader and playing well. This year was a big step for him in the right direction and the all star game should boost his confidence that much more for next year. Hell probably drop 25-6-3 next year. All he needs is a better three point Shot and if he's consistent hell have all the tools.

yea I get that contract year, but how is his play any different this year than it was in Houston??

numbers are pretty similar. this "contract" year BS is just that...BS
his numbers are up from last year...cuz this team was horrible. but he's back to playing like he was in Houston.

but of course....you already know that....cuz you seem to have all the answers

so tell me bruh, what moves would you make to make this team better?

these dudes are all just over rational complainers that only whine and complain but don't offer any realistic solutions.

"the raps should just trade lowry, and tank and rebuild and draft wiggins and sign KD, and hire phil jackson and everything will be OK..."

Your team never really tanked though, they never really did a proper rebuild, it was always just trying to make the playoffs and being awful while not stock piling picks for the players of value that you did have. The Wiz and Hawks have caproom this summer and are in markets that could potentially land bigtime free agents, both could be in the running for Melo, and the Hawks get the option to swap picks with the Nets next year. The Celts & Sixers are amassing a legion of draft picks and Ainge has no qualms about throwing Rondo in the bushes if he can get some picks for him, and the Celts have the Nets picks from 2016 till 2018.

The Magic don't need way more than 1 lottery to improve, they have a 2, 3, and 5. They lack a PG, experience and a defensive 4 would help them out a lot, they have more flexability moving forward. You're simply looking at things 1 or 2 years from now, while these other teams are scorching the Earth and building from the bottom up to be good for more than just a year or two.

This is full scale denial right here, there will be 3 or 4 players better than anyone on the Raps.

He was never this good in Houston, his PER is over 20 for the first time in his career. If he regresses back to the player he was in Houston, which is a career PER of 16, you're going to be fukked.

His numbers are up because it's a contract year :russ:

And the move I would have made would have been to trade him earlier in the season, they would have been in the lottery and sucked without a PG. Basically, you're putting all your eggs in Lowry's basket, you're committed to him now.

Toronto doesn't have that same "siberia" stigma to it anymore. I think they will be able to get guys, just as easy as Atl or Was.

and fukk Melo, he's in NY and can't do shyt. I wouldn't want him on my team.

3 or 4?
meh...maybe. But if you were letting dudes tell it before the season, there would be 5-6 superstars this year.
I'd like to see it play out, cuz every year lately a top 3 guy has been a bust.

plus its been proven you can get stars in the teens anyway

:stopitslime:

if you look at his last 2 years in Houston you can see how similar his numbers were. he played less minutes and his numbers were slightly lower to reflect that, but overall pretty close.
plus now he's older, has become more of a leader and is smarter now. his PeR reflects his growth and maturity.

so WHO would you trade him to? and for what?
go in the lottery and what?
HOPEFULLY get a top 3-4 pick? then what? pick who?

you still didn't provide any solutions. just wishes....
you seem like so many other "fans" thinking that this is a video game and not real life. be REALISTIC. think REALISTIC

show me some real moves..not just "I'd trade him, and tank, get the number one pick and get wiggings, then compete for championships for the next 10 years!!!"

c'mon bruh, this is real life stay away from the video games

It depends on whether Embiid and Parker come out, if both come out then you have Exum, Embiid, Parker and Wiggins with much higher ceilings than anyone on the Raps. And of course there will be 1 or 2 guys that come out of nowhere and end up better pros than they were college players.

But the raps have

Breh, I love Toronto, you don't need to sell me on it. The taxes are killer for NBA players, and dudes aren't passing up ATL or Chocolate city for Toronto.

Sure he's in NY and can't do anything, but you drop Melo onto that roster in Chicago and they become the 2nd best team in the East.

So, basically you're completely oblivious to all the dudes in the past posting career numbers during contract years, only to regress back to what they were prior. You don't see Trevor Ariza balling out of control in Washington do you, that isn't attributed to maturity or getting better, dude wants to get paid one last time.

I would have traded Lowry for just about anything just to avoid the inevitable, which is him asking for Ty Lawson money, while being 3-4 years older than when Ty signed his deal. Late first rounder and a young prospect :yeshrug: You're overvaluing him, and like I said, they are going to be committed to keeping him now so enjoy it now before he comes back to earth next season.
