The Tesla Semi truck will be a monumental failure. It doesn’t make sense economically given the size and weight of the battery eating away at the payload,

Yeah, most electric pickup trucks i've seen not even semi but regular passenger trucks, range falls off a cliff once they try towing something heavy with it.
These drivers would likely be on the road for weeks just to make a single round trip due to the amount of stops they'd have to make to recharge.
battery range is gonna have to improve 10 fold before this becomes feasible for anything beyond local day shipping.

I do t know about that. What I do know is that heavy ass battery is going to cost owners money when they can’t haul as much as a diesel truck.

It says the total weight of the truck fully loaded is 82k. It doesn’t say how much of that weight is the truck itself

That’s the gross weight when fully loaded. Take that number minus thaw weight if the truck and battery and that is your payload.

Conman Musk won’t release that number because it is much lower than the diesel option.
