But this elected official just did the natural disaster equivalent of that?

Answer me this question: the government and electric company comes out and says that it is completely their fault and that they were not prepared to handle this situation, but at this current moment, they do not have the capability to restore power, however, they are working on it.

What you finna do?

Bruh I think everybody gets what you are saying, but the reason nobody gives a fukk is because this whole situation was completely preventable hell it could have been prevented YEARS ago, not to mention they had 3 weeks advanced notice of this storm. This isn't like a terrorist attack on the power grid that knocked it off, there is no warning for that, they had 3 weeks notice bro. Texas was told a decade ago their grid was a disaster waiting to happen and couldn't keep up with the demand and that was 10 years ago? Do you know how many people have moved to Texas in the past 10 years, I don't know exactly but I know it's probably almost 8 figures. The way this state is run is not sustainable and this is just a glaring sign that the shyt aint working, not to mention there are enough transplants here to challenge the status quo now.

Don't get me wrong I'm all for people knowing how to fend for themselves, but bruh this aint the situation to be trying to tell people to 'pull yourself up by your bootstraps'.

Bootstraps come into play

Cheap housing areas in red states are good, what @UpAndComing always said! :sas2:

Libertarian methods provide the best solutions, damn the government services that @DEAD7 always preaches about! :troll:

So if it's not a big city with 3 million + in the metro area, its a red state?

Lets name off the Tier 3 cities with cheap housing

Albuquerque NM - In a red state? NOPE
Lansing MI - In a red state? NOPE
Grand Rapids MI - In a red state? NOPE
Buffalo NY - In a red state? NOPE
Springfield MA - In a red state? NOPE
Providence RI - In red state? NOPE

I mean, the message ain't all the way off base but that's something he shouldn't have shared at all and especially not right now.

Very off base, you pay taxes and services to ensure your community provides common services. Those roads should’ve been de-iced, family told me they’re using fukking sand instead of salt on roads.

Utilities should’ve been prepared and had some type of insulation ready to go on critical equipment.

Bottom line is the state failed at levels for this.

Weird.

I'm in PA. Never experienced blackouts here with snow and cold weather.

It's almost like Texas is inefficient with managing their power during inclement weather.

Its more of a southern thing I noticed:patrice:.

I remember the entire city of Savannah shut down because of one inch of snow:mjtf:, meanwhile in Philly we were using snowdogs to get to fukking school:beli:. Hell, there was this "crazy" blizzard in Atlanta some time ago and that shyt damn near was like watching The Walking Dead:mjlol:.

I find it amazing of how different parts of this country has different approaches to mother nature. It can be hot as hell in Philly, but in Charleston it could be spring weather to them.

Absolutely garbage human being.
But this the weird shyt white people co-sign.

This is "I don't want anyone else getting hand outs" pushed to it's extreme.
And even if this dude is out the paint, from the outside looking in Texas is already screwed with
how it handled regulation and privatization.
Doesn't seem like there's much they can do.
