I wouldn't say non-religious, but non dominant religion. Meaning being tolerant/a accepting of all different ideologies rather than force ppl into one religion.

Let's assume they truly thought is was Jesus.

Knowing it's wrong to open the door in flight is the top line. So if Jesus, Trump, Satan, Odin, or the Jeanie from Aladdin.. who so ever tells you the opposite of that, stick with what you know to be right.

Cause even when you're hearing the "true" voice of Jesus.. it's most likely your brain talking to itself.

Atheist countries have been some of the most murderous and authoritarian in history. Mao Zedong was responsible for nearly 50 million murders himself. Stalin for 20 million.

I’m not even saying atheism is the only alternative to religion, I can understand deism, spirituality, or agnosticism for example. But even then, atheist enclaves weren’t involved in movements like civil rights because a non-belief in god was an almost alien concept back then mostly due less advancements in science and education

And atheism produces some shytty people like all belief(or non-belief) systems but religious violence trumps that by a pretty big margin, whether we’re talking about today with terrorism in the middle east and west Africa or in the past with crusades and colonization from European countries.

Well considering you can still be killed or jailed for being an atheist in many countries today you can see how that could stifle growth throughout history. Most of your 'powerhouse' nations had to embrace secularism in order to survive modernity. State atheism, like science and technology, is a work in progress and in my personal opinion an inevitability.

Nations with a high percentage of atheists like Japan, France and Sweden aren't exactly nightmares either.
