is Walking Dead really as good as advertised? I'm thinking of starting it but most of the folks I know in real life who say its good are weirdos

In all honesty, the show is pretty bad. Well, it's not horrible but it should be a lot better. Season 1 was dope (you should at the very least watch that), but the rest of it isn't that good. There are certain high points, but there are way too many low points. The acting on the show is horrible. I basically watch it now for the same reason I watch the WWE. It's so bad that it's good, if that makes sense

The thread in the Film Room is basically all of us cracking jokes about what's going on.

I'd say you should watch season 1 though. If you can make it through garbage ass season two - continue watching.
