That Benji Wilson Story on ESPN

Nah breh, from watching the doc, and seeing how big he was portrayed... it would be like Lebron getting murdered like that before he finished high school.



I could be wrong, since I wasn't even born when Wilson got killed. But the doc and the footage depicted a player that was going to be a certified super star who was known on a National level as the best.

Just my take on it...

That's how I tried to explain it to my 12 year old son. He caught it about a quarter of the way through with me, and he was trying to process what the big deal was about son. He saw Nick Anderson in his Magic jersey and realized that dude had played with some ballers, but still, he asked me afterwards, "what was so special about that kid?" I told him that everyone knew he was the best, and he most likely would have been a superstar, like everyone knew Lebron was destined for greatness. Then he saw D-Rose and Jabari Parker, cats he's coming up knowing about, and then I could see him putting it together like

For some reason the killer story sounds credible, he took his second chance and made something out of it. Sad shyt when you spend 19 years in prison and come out in your mid 30's, spent teenage years and 20s in prison over senseless shyt.

I knew that was coming and that's some foul shyt to assume. It said he was following behind her and that she was avoiding him because they had some kind of drama. She didn't force that nikka to come outside.

i believe Billy Moore's story aswell. i mean Benji did hit a teacher (by mistake) and when (i can't remember who it was) said that they wouldn't let him fight he also mentioned that Ben had an attitude. add all that with the fact he was mad cause he was arguin with his bm's, the fact that he's a hs bball star, he's like 6'8 and the young bul was like 15 and most likely a regular size 15 year old, Ben wantin to be a tough guy like his older brother and a young bul who felt like he got punked and you got Ben .


but it's a lot more than just that situation in front of the store that led to Benji's death. him arguin with his bm over his son, Billy pops passin away, Billy sister (or whoever it was) gettin $10 robbed, Billy's aunt leavin a gun where a 15 year old could get. you take any of these situations away and we not even discussin this.

I do believe Billy's story, but the fact that he left his house with a gun (that he wasn't licensed to carry) for ANY reason is what makes him deserve that sentence. Worst that would've happened if he hadn't been strapped is that he got his ass whipped. Instead, a 17 year old kid ended up dead. We all make mistakes but I don't feel sorry for this guy (Billy) at all, duke got a gun over $10?!

Yeah, it was like the prefect storm that culminated into his death. His bm's prolly caught him fukking with several other chicks or some dumb shyt and was pissed at the nikka. I highly doubt she would have someone kill the man who was gonna potential make millions of dollars and taking care of her ass.

The documentary tried to subtly convey she was responsible without really putting all the blame on her though, she was the antagonist of Benji's story, his family and friends tried to subtly state that too without being reckless, just as it subtly tried to say Benji had a mean streak. Them flashing across the screen she skipped town after he died, and refused to talk, was more telling than anything, they left it up to us to make our assumptions, read in between the lines



Great Documentary, it left no stones unturned and it allowed people to make their own judgement rather than having one side forced our throats

Did the audio sound messed up at the beginning of the doc for anyone else? Maybe my recorded version got a lil fukked up but for the first 20 or so minutes all the voices and narration sounded 'echoy' and off.
