If you peel away the culture sharking and listen to Drake talk he is Canadian as hell.

So the official word is you cant change ur mind if a deal presents itself and Masai stating on TV that the entire roster was open for trade now didnt exist.


If DeRozan and Lowry are naive enough to believe they were safe and no deals were coming despite masai saying otherwise in his exit interview and the fact Casey was canned then thats on THEM

Those are hypotheticals. I’m talking about this particular situation. And who the hell is Demar Derozan to KD and Bron?? They’re in completely diff echelons. Someone of their caliber demands different rules. And anyway Demar got his money and had his chances in the playoffs and came up very short. You want the team to continue to be happy with that b/c they don’t want to hurt his feelings and be loyal to him? What business works like that. You tell me.

Demar is a good player but if I can get Kawhi Leonard for him and possible resign him long term. I’m doing that any day of the week.

Lying to your teammates/associates and telling them you have every intention of staying with them, that you won’t be leaving, and that you’re with them through the long haul only to duck outta there to sign with another team...is that a hoe move or not?

Would your teammates respect a move like that? Or is telling them the truth, that you might be leaving and your exploring other options because you not sure if this is the direction you wanna go?

If a player did the equivalent of this to their teammates, he’d be called all kinds of shyt. Durant left in free agency and people blasted him for not discussing it with Westbrook but straight up lying to his teammates face would be way worse.

Players and organizations are not the same. So why are you here comparing them as hypotheticals like they are apples to apples?
You’re missing the point by trying to make this a blanket comparison when it doesn’t have to be.

Raptors are not going to risk hurting a potential trade and their own franchise by giving a player a heads up. For all we know they may have been trying to keep him up until they signed the agreement. You call it lying but that’s called business. Like it or not. That’s my point.
