Masai said in his exit interview the entire roster was available to be had.....DeRozan can write what he wants and be in his feelings but hes not an idiot,he and Lowry and everyone knew the organization is trying to break up the core...Theres no chance DeRozan or lowry is back after the current deals are up,why act surprised like this hasnt been the MO of the team since the playoffs ended...

You're talking about what was said months ago, we're talking about what was said 11 days ago.

But I do wish the Raps the best, Kawhi staying there would be big.

Derozon embraces Toronto like no other all star player has.

They letting him go for a player that does NOT want to be there. And will almost certainly bounce after the season.

That Paul George fluke got teams gassed up.

Think about that.
:wow:

You dont get this is less about Kahwi and more about dumping salary,if theres a way they could release DeRozan and his contract for nothing they would have done it....addition by subtraction and instead get one year of a top 5 player for it....and they didnt have to give up OG or Siakam, this is a win for the Raptors.....

On a tangent..

Outside of travel...potentially that... I can't see why that would be an issue as it's only 4 hours away from Detroit and 8 from Chicago...

why is toronto an undesirable sports location? Its easily better than most american cities by far...i dont get it

As an American living in Canada, Its just different breh.

You can name all the benefits about it, but Countries still will always have thier own cultures and vibes.

Especially as an AA Black person, Canadian Blacks don't have the exact same history we have which leads to different midstates, point of views, and behaviors.

For most AA's that grew up in certain enviorments Canada won't ever feel like home.

And thats not even including Taxes and Weather.

How is this a shock?

Everyone figured the Raptors would blow the core up in the off-season and trade either Derozan or Lowry they just didn’t expect it to be for Kawhi

He is about to get a pay raise with the same contract. No longer getting double taxed, and texas has no state income tax. He will get way more money in his pocket. That said I understand where he is coming from. They looked him in the eye and said we arent tradinng you and then traded him. If they were upfront and honest he would probavly take it differently. This is gonna kill player trust in the org though, every player knows the FO is full if liars who are untrustworthy, if they would snake Demar they will snake anyone. Lol its a perfect reason why kahwi would not sign an extension
FYI there's no double taxation for US Citizens working in Canada.

There's a treaty that was signed in 1980 that eliminated that.

But yes, going to Texas will save him a significant amount of money by eliminating Canadian provincial taxes.

Elaborate on them taxes for the regular man side of things....i hear expat taxes are ridiculous coming from america billing yo ass while abroad! Im at a crossroads where shyt like that needs to be considered

And i hear you there on the rest of the stuff...i cant speak on dealing with all that living in another nation as a whole, but i could personally relate to that at least on a surface level from living in several places in america....especially when dealing jumping tax brackets ...theres always a workable level of continuity when dealing with blacks...now you throw white people...let along TOO many white to where they got overwheling numbers into that bag...you could, at least i do, feel out of place ...isolated etc
