JJalen oser said he got double taxed when he was in toronto QUOTE="panopticon, post: 30401348, member: 30555"]FYI there's no double taxation for US Citizens working in Canada.

There's a treaty that was signed in 1980 that eliminated that.

But yes, going to Texas will save him a significant amount of money by eliminating Canadian provincial taxes.[/QUOTE]

Dont talk to me about loyalty...Raptors overpaid to keep him and Lowry here and allowed them with immunuity to play there style to the detriment of the team and allowed them to develop into all stars despite ZERO playoff success for 5 years, this team was very loyal to Demar and his family...theres a point you have to wash ur hands of shyt and move on....and now is the time....

American sports media is a bunch of lying a$$holes....theese fakkits trying to make DeRozan the victim and trying to prop him up now, yall was just shytting on him 2 months ago...

Elaborate on them taxes for the regular man side of things

First off, athletes pay taxes in every state(or country in this case) that they play in. You just save a lot more if you move to a place with no state income tax, 41 game checks adds up. Canada's tax rate is 33% for high income earners, plus the province could have it's own tax rate.

Spurs championship years are over....
maybe but no run lasts forever

credit them for never falling too low

maybe not a championship every year but competitive consistently

not like other dynasties that go from elite to trash back & forth on the whim of star.players

i respect the.system you take whatever you have & make something of it

t-dot till they bury me
The Raptors met with Derozan during SL and told him he wasn't getting traded. If true, that's really grimey
Who is reporting that and is it true?

Be loyal to the paycheck other than that fukkem.
I still fail to see how athletes don't get this by now. I swear they got the mindsets of streetwalking hoes

Because they are individuals with individual dreams and values and teams are machines, heartless organizations that only see the bottom line.

Players will always be at a disadvantage for that reason. They're human beings. I agree with you that they should get this by now, but I don't blame them for being human.

Derozon embraces Toronto like no other all star player has.

They letting him go for a player that does NOT want to be there. And will almost certainly bounce after the season.

That Paul George fluke got teams gassed up.

Think about that.
:wow:

Might have mentioned it before, and I think PG is a bit of a clown, but that interview he did talking about loyalty was :wow:

He was talking about how when he was the young guy on the team and Danny Granger was the team star, right when Granger career got derailed by injuries. He said Granger was in the gym every day working doing everything he could to get back often times making his injury worse trying to come back and help the team and he was the undisputed leader of the team and ever single player on that team looked up to him and they all felt like they were on the verge of something special and management had their back...and they traded him to philly right when they started tanking:wow:

PG was like "this dude pouring his heart and soul into getting back on the court...he is the leader of the team...and you just ship him off to a team that we all know is about to be bad on purpose...i wasn't going out like tthat":wow:

Official: Kawhi to Toronto, DeRozan to Spurs

Sources close to DeRozan told ESPN's Chris Haynes that DeRozan met with Toronto officials in Las Vegas during summer league and believed that he would not be traded.

In a story posted on his Instagram page Wednesday morning, DeRozan wrote, "Be told one thing & the outcome another. Can't trust em. Ain't no loyalty in this game. Sell you out quick for a little bit of nothing... Soon you'll understand... Don't disturb..."
