Cards offered Beltran 1 yr., $14 million. Geez.

That's just the qualifying offer, it boils down to draft compensation if Beltran signs elsewhere. The same was offered to Cano, Granderson, Kuroda, Drew, Napoli, and many others yesterday, it's more of a technicality than anything else.

Hot Stove is fun, but I miss Baseball brehs :sadcam: I'm gonna go back and watch some games from the Spring/Summer. Thinking about watching all of Harvey and Jose Fernandez's starts.

Oh, I know, I just realize that he's gone ... I'm pretty sure he wants a multi-year deal and the Cards aren't going for that with Taveras in the wings.

Great deal if he signs, Taveras can still come up if another OF gets injured.

I doubt he signs it though. Can actually see him going back to NY ...

I just hope the Tigers acquire a real leadoff hitter. Ellsbury would be a godsend, but I can't see them breaking the bank anymore. Are there any young guys with potential as leadoff hitters?

I hope they don't trade Scherzer this offseason either. :sadcam:

Leadoff is the least of The Tigers concern. Bullpen and defense is.

Bullpen killed them in the playoffs because Leyland didn't know what the fukk he was doing.

Their lack of big hits or having runners on is what did them in during the ALCS. fukkin' Fielder. :beli: @FloorGeneral You want this guy back for that a$$hole Braun?

It's foolish investing in a bullpen as they are shaky year to year .
Eat half of Fielder's salary and trade him to the Pirates or Texas.
Sign Nate McLouth or David Murphy to play LF
Sign Juan Uribe or Youk
Resign Infante
Throw out an offer to a bullpen arm and call up farmhands to be in the pen.
