Do you understand what we're building and the reason for trading guys with one year left, right? We already fukked up with Heyward before 2014 by giving his money to other players, so we had to make that trade. Upton was good as gone too, I'd take prospects with experience under their belt over the Type A draft pick compensation.

This team needs to take notes from the past WS winners and build an offense built around contact hitting and baserunning. Some of the guys we've acquired (Uggla, BJ, etc.) are pull happy and strikeout prone. I'm glad we're making moves and building for the future

I just don't want Heyward to be gone

meanwhile clueless cashman is waiting for the right time to go bargain shopping or give another 7-year deal with a full NTC.

with the endless resources, he's the worst GM in baseball.

You know I've been trumpeting the Tulo to Mets trade since last year. Makes too much goddamn sense.

The Rockies are a joke and have no chance to compete, might as well blow it up. The Mets are one player away, imo... and he's a fukkin shortstop, their most glaring need. The Mets have an abundance of top prospects right now, most of which are redundant and won't effect the Major League roster. Tulo is under control for 6 years at a good price in this market of $118. The mets are broke, but have about his salary coming off the books next year as is in Murphy and Fatty Colon. Tulo is an injury risk so if it backfires, I can be miserable and just say "fukk it, didn't think the Mets could actually win anyway."

literally everything lines up. Every fukkin thing. it's the most perfect trade scenario in the history of trade scenarios.

... welcome to the Mets, Stephan Drew. Signed Febuary 15th, 1 year $9 million.

Francesa railing against this now, for the same reasons that I'm skeptical... I don't think Tulo's health is ever gonna be that great again. He's actually talking more about trying to bring Reyes back.

tulo and Jose make about the same money going forward. id much rather take the risk on Tulo. Jose, by all accounts, is a pretty terrible ss at this point. he'd probably come for less, but i don't care

I think we're in between a rock and a hard place. I keep hearing that Sandy doesn't want to part with any of the young pitching. At this rate, I wouldn't be mad if Flores was the starting SS, provided his bat compensates for his lack of defense. Tulo would excite me, I won't front, but I don't want to gut the farm system in the process. Plus I'd always be like :lupe: with that hip of his.
