Don't blame the Cubs you gotta go for it now at the same time they didn't ruin their future

Sure on paper they should contend for awhile but you never know. That starting pitching is flimsy and if Arrieta leaves in a year for FA you really are light on pitching. Don't blame them for going all in to win now

pipeline for SP is thin for the cubs?

In the ocean where the sharks be at
once those prospects turn into stars for a rental... gonna piss you off even more.

It could happen but I looked stall of theo's oldtrades and he's never really gave up a prospect that turned into a superstar, unless u count Rizzo:lolbron: id take my chances.

Outside april-mid may warren been trash and has been up and down in the minors the last month he may be going back to the yankees so castro was given away for nothing to make room for a 35 year old who's been slumping for 2 months now.

I don't care about losing torres like that he's in single a and beaz and russell will be blocking him for the next 5 years. It's giving him up for a rental when they could get more value like a younger starter is my issue.Them shortsighted trades aint how the cubs get down

short sighted is putting schwarber in a package for Miller. We don't have a track record of how aggressive Theo is to get his guy because we've never been in this position. I'd rather have chapman than have to face that nikka in the 9th wit the game on the line.:yeshrug:

Yeah none of the prospects traded were thought of as anywhere as highly as the Bryant's Baez Russel etc

Torres is a nice prospect but far from a can't miss elite future multiple all star prospect

Jake Orodizzi,Quintana, sonny gray, chris archer and if the cubs wanted they could get one of the mets starters probably matz or de grom last winter they were talking to the indians about salazar and carrasco. These options would give them longer term value is what I'm saying.

:laff: @ the Mets giving you deGrom or Matz.

Archer could be had now but he's been wack and will still cost you a huge chunk of your system.

You really think the Mets would trade deGrom or Matz to the Cubs right now? :pachaha:

Odorizzi, Archer and Gray are the only realistic options you listed, but God only knows what you'd have to part with for the latter two and they've been trash this season. I'm always a fan of AL pitchers moving to the NL, but none of those guys has been lights out this year.

Shelby miller too I'm just giving examples of the starers that can be had arrieta was a struggling buy low candidate and look at him.Mets will lose cespedes this winter then what they gonna do for an offense that already sucks? They gotta trade one of them starters eventually
