Shelby miller too I'm just giving examples of the starers that can be had arrieta was a struggling buy low candidate and look at him.Mets will lose cespedes this winter then what they gonna do for an offense that already sucks? They gotta trade one of them starters eventually
They'll keep Cespedes unless another team offers him a 5 year deal

How are they gonna lose Cespedes when nobody offered him a long term deal this past winter? :what:

Jake Orodizzi,Quintana, sonny gray, chris archer and if the cubs wanted they could get one of the mets starters probably matz or de grom last winter they were talking to the indians about salazar and carrasco. These options would give them longer term value is what I'm saying.

Don't blame the Cubs you gotta go for it now at the same time they didn't ruin their future

Sure on paper they should contend for awhile but you never know. That starting pitching is flimsy and if Arrieta leaves in a year for FA you really are light on pitching. Don't blame them for going all in to win now

Glad Luhnow has got us pitching lined up in AAA ready to come up if needed. Astros only need a LHP for our pen. We can call up musgrove or Paulino to take Fiers spot in the rotation.

Best starting pitching in mlb :ld:

Kyle hendricks has lower whip and era than every mets starter yet they still get hyped for some reason.Hendricks is neck and neck in so's with all of em except syndergaard and he's not even a power pitcher.

Their ERA has been rising quite a bit in the past month. :mjpls:

There pitching is not dominant regardless of the numbers most of those pitchers track records are average

I'm not saying they can't win a title with it but it's far from daunting and if you ever lost Arrieta it would be really thin

:beli:#2 in era,#2 in whip,#1 in opp ba,# 3 in strikeouts it's dominant enough and this is after going through a 20 game stretch where the whole staff was getting rocked

Arrieta has been mediocre for 2 months too.Let it go bruh

You really think the Mets would trade deGrom or Matz to the Cubs right now? :pachaha:

Odorizzi, Archer and Gray are the only realistic options you listed, but God only knows what you'd have to part with for the latter two and they've been trash this season. I'm always a fan of AL pitchers moving to the NL, but none of those guys has been lights out this year.
Why wouldn't Quintana be an option?

He should be but I can't fathom the White Sox trading him to the Cubs.

They'd never trade sale to the cubs that's why i never even mention sale as a possibility. Quintana is an option but his price will get ridiculous so I doubt it happens
