The cubs will have a chance in 2017,18,19,20

Kris bryant,Anthony Rizzo,Kyle Schwarber,Addison russell,Javier Baez,Willson contreras are all 26 and younger and will get better with experience

This aint some lightening in a bottle team they've had the best record in mlb since july 31st 2015

You never know in sports. Yeah the Cubs should contend for the next 5-8 years easily but sports doesn't always work that way wheter through injuries or whatever

Also as I said the prospect being traded is blocked position wise. And while he's a very good prospect you're not talking can't miss all star.

Cuz nomar defensively sucked and didn't sign an extension he was a fa after that season so theo upgraded with cabrera and they won the world series

Not even remotely the same this is a 19 year old top 30 prospect for a 2 month rental.Go get kelvin herrera instead since he has years of control left
If they're as good as you think they'll be, Torres could never factor into your team's lineup. The only justification for keeping Torres is that you're not fond of one of the infielders already up (or if you're holding out for another top arm but we all know someone like Sale would never be available to y'all)

and I was in Boston at the time. Cabrera was not an upgrade at the time. They traded Nomar for 4 quarters. Theo took a huge risk, bigger than what this could be. Nomar was wearing out his welcome, but that coulda been a PR disaster had they not won.

I wouldn't trip at all if the chapman deal comes with an extension.Torres is blocked cuz baez and russell both can play ss/2b and baez can play 3b + ian happ will be up probably next year he's killing double a right now and he's a 2b.When torres would of been ready baez and russell would be 24-25

This deal for chapman with a 3-4 year extension is cool. For a rental :pacspit:

Defensively he was nomar was declining on defense. He was traded to the cubs I remember specifically the analysis at the time saying his defense declined and nomar isolating himself from his teammates did him in.That yankees vs red sox game where jeter dove in the stands and fukked up his face and nomar was sitting on the bench while the whole team was on the top step was the end of him in boston.

And I acknowledged torres is blocked that's why a chapman extension would make that value more even to me

The stoop with dat dope fanny padding
If it's torres and others for chapman with no extension then the cubs got fleeced. There's no guarantee they will win the world series this year with chapman

You're giving up a top 30 prospect for a 2 month rental :what:.I'm hoping this is a smokescreen or just trying to get another team to up the ante at the last second this goes against everything theo has been saying since becoming president of the cubs.

You basically have your starting lineup of hitters for the next ten years anyways why does it matter?
