Mateo and Fowler are not great prospects

We have no speed outside of a 34 year old Gardner. Someone’s gonna have to man that CF spot long term. Hicks is just temporary until Florial is ready.


Fulmer’s good even though his lack of K’s worries me for the stuff he has. I’d be more into it if we didn’t have Gray, but we do. I’d rather trade for Fulmer than say Gerrit Cole but I’d either try for Archer first or just give Chance a try vs. Montgomery for that 5th spot.

Frazier/Betances/Montgomery/another prospect is fair. The Yankees can afford to part with middle infield guys, not Florial.

If not Florial I think you have to give up two solid offensive prospects

Pitching injuries are inevitable.

Most teams don’t allow even major leaguers to go 120 pitches anymore and it has done nothing to curtail pitching injuries one bit.

Even Tim Wakefield was hitting the DL in his career and he was a knuckleball pitcher so you can’t even blame velocity entirely (although it’s a part of the problem).

Yep..I've heard Andy Petite purposely didn't let his kids pitch till college to see if it was overuse at a young age that caused it and both his kids needed Tommy John anyway
