Yep..I've heard Andy Petite purposely didn't let his kids pitch till college to see if it was overuse at a young age that caused it and both his kids needed Tommy John anyway

I really don't think there's an answer here

Pitching is something that the human arm was not intended to do. Some guys are lucky and can throw thousand of pitches over the years and be fine. Some are not so lucky.

They pawned off two championship teams before. I don't see why this would be any worse

I wouldn't really say that about the '03-04 teams. Most of that WS came back. The only major defections were Pudge (who only signed for one year) and Derrek Lee. That whole pitching staff returned and Miggy had his first full season in '04.

This new ownership was supposed to come in and end the nonsense Loria was doing. Instead, it's as bad as ever if not worse.

He’s 25 and will be worth his next contract

The plan has always been to spend next winter or the following once the young talent was ready

I had feeling the would offer bag next offseason to him. They must feel that in order to sign him long term they need to bring him in while under contract and not compete on open market

Kopech would hurt ... Giolito I could stomach of it meant Machdo signs long term. Gio was loooking good at end of last season tho but Kopech just has nasty stuff
