nikkas saying these prospect pitchers are Randy Johnson and Kurt Schilling... I'm not trading them for Manny Machado.

..but shyt...I don't really watch baseball, so baseball heads fill me in

It would be an interesting move to me. Something feels suspicious about these guys being available for now the 2nd time. Machado is a different tier of players but it would be the 2nd time Kopech and Giolito will have been traded and teams usually aren't that willing to give away future aces. Pitching is the hardest thing to predict so I understand why you would move pitching for someone who will play every day, but if I'm the Orioles I would be a little hesitant.

But if you know you aren't going to re-sign him, you gotta maximize the value and the Orioles been looking for pitching since Mike Mussina left.

Olney was talking about that on his podcast if the White Sox traded for him. They would only make that move to flip him to the Yankees.

It makes more sense to sign machado in free agency next year instead of trading prospects for him

Kopech isnt on the table, 100%. Also heard Giolito is not offered as well

I don't understand the oriole's

You want to trade machado without letting teams talk to him about a extension? Your biggest fear is that he ends up in ny after next year so why not let teams talk to him about a extension? There are teams who won't trade machado if they get him signed long term
