The differences in their numbers is minimal. I am not a proponent of co-award winners but this is a case where it would be justified.

ERA basically the same. K numbers a little higher for Cole; WHIP and BAA a little lower for Verlander; innings a little higher for Verlander; HRs a little lower for Cole. The no-hitter could be the deciding factor as the more signature moment between the two.

Verlander's WAR is quite a bit higher, which I don't really understand. Pitcher WAR in general is trash, imo.

Can some kind soul remind me of the annoying a$$hole I said I would shyt on if the Cubs didn't make the post season

I can easily admit cubs have played like trash the last 4-5 weeks they can't hit with risp,bullpen shaky,they get no production AT ALL from 2b or cf, they make dumb base running mistakes daily,defense sloppy and the starting pitching is up or down they either are dominant or get rocked

the cubs bullpen is the reason why the division so close they have/tied for the most blown leads after the 7th in mlb

all the other teams on the list suck besides oakland, bullpen been a problem all season

The cubs,brewers and cardinals are all flawed.It will come down to the last 2 weeks of the season,whoever's consistent or gets hot will win the central

this is the worst cubs team since 2014 they aren't winning shyt this year.Can't hit lefties,cant hit with risp,bullpen trash and they suck on the road it is what it is

I BEEN saying the cubs weren't that good since may/june.The cubs had the most blown saves in the nl pre and post asb that's why they missed the postseason
