I thought they said just the other day he was coming back. :dwillhuh:

Yup

The athletic wrote an article about it

The Pirates are expected to make changes to their front office and coaching staff this offseason, but manager Clint Hurdle believes his job is secure. Hurdle told The Athletic on Wednesday that he recently received assurance from the organization that he will be back as manager next year. It will be Hurdle’s 10th season with the Pirates and his 18th as a major-league manager.

Good things for each non playoff team moving forward from 2019

Orioles- John Means should absolutely be a fixture somewhere in their rotation. Trey Mancini is definitely their best player and if they wanted to get a good deal for Villar, they absolutely could.

Red Sox- Rafael Devers could very well be the best 3B in the AL not named Bregman moving forward, Eduardo Rodriguez is about to win 20 games and JD Martinez really did replace Ortiz seamlessly.

White Sox- Yoan Moncada and Tim Anderson have arrived, Jimenez brings a lot of hope for the future, and Giolito might be a perennial ace.

Indians- with Bieber there now, they got pitching for days. They won 93 games with no Kluber pretty much and Lindor missed time and still did his numbers.

Tigers- I don't have anything good to say about the Tigers, dead serious.

Royals- their infield is basically set aside from 1B (Mondesi, Dozier, Merrifield) and Soler broke out.

Angels- Ohtani is not a bad hitter at all, La Stella was having the year of his life.

Mariners- Narvaez should be their everyday catcher and the best move they made all year was getting out of Cano's deal and getting Kelenic.

Rangers- Danny Santana figured it out and Mike Minor got his career back. Even Lance Lynn had a solid year.

Blue Jays- all that youth. If they could get a pitcher to go with that, they're onto something. Bo and Vlad and Biggio.

Diamondbacks- they lost Goldy and Greinke and still were in the WC race til mid September. Marte had the dream year, Escobar showed he's a beast when they stop shifting him around everywhere, and Christian Walker is a poor man's Pete Alonso.

Cubs- Willson Contreras is a top 3 catcher, Nick Castellanos belongs there and Baez is a monster.

Reds- Sonny Gray as expected rediscovered what made him good, Castillo/Senzel/Aquino is a nice core, and Suarez is their new franchise guy.

Rockies- Story/Blackmon/Arenado are as consistent as can be. That's about it.

Marlins- they've got some live pitching, Berti is gonna be a top 5 annoying player moving forward, and they didn't really miss Realmuto because Alfaro is legit.

Mets- Pete Alonso. Jeff McNeil is so damn good I don't know how the Mets didn't realize it. deGrom back to back Cy Youngs and they're not far away. They gotta make one more move.

Phillies- Realmuto was worth it, Nola's second half brings hope and that's it.

Pirates- Kevin Newman should be their leadoff hitter and Josh Bell's first half was MVP caliber.

Padres- Tatis when healthy will be a top 15 player in baseball and their youth has so much potential. That's a dream job for any manager.

Giants- I think they keep MadBum and Yastrzemski had a good season.

:mjcry:

It's criminal what Chris Illitch has done to the Tigers.

I want the cubs to go after betts, trade Bryant for young starting pitching(preferably Padres)

Schwarber :camby: trade him while he has some value

Re-sign nick the stick:wow: he wants to stay

And shore up this wakk bullpen that ruined the ‘19 season then they’ll be back next season and beyond

And I don’t agree with letting Maddon go it’s a roster personnel issue but whatever, Theo better step his game up this offseason straight up

I said it in the Mets thread, but they need to fix the pen next year, priority #1

86 wins with a trash pen is nothing short of a miracle, would've been stepping on 100 wins with a solid pen.

Also, JD Davis is the real deal.
