He's speaking from his own pocketbook but he has a point. Look at the deals Rizzo and Goldy signed (prior to his recent extension).

Like, Acuna's making more up front, but assuming his production keeps improving, he'll be underpaid in a few years when he woulda been arbitration eligible (and he'll still be locked in for many more years).

Yup, and just as an example, a guy like Boagarts has an opt out after his age 30 season, so if he wants he can opt out and go get his money...but for now has the security he needs and the team does as well....

Yeah Boras is just doing his normal BS. Both sides are minimizing risk in these deals. Some of these young players will get injured or flame out and they will get their guaranteed money anyway.
