Gleyber, love the guy. Wouldn't trade him for practically anyone. He only started hitting higher in the order recently. That's because anytime he would hit higher in the order, he wouldn't produce. Much of his damage came from him hitting 9th. DJ was the table setter.
DJ's the MVP of the team because this team didn't have a leadoff hitter. He filled that void. So many guys hurt and he plays the same natural position as Gleyber Torres, yet he's killed it at 3B and been ok at 1B and of course been elite at 2B. He doesn't have a regular position on the team and still holds it down defensively. Most importantly, just as bad as their starting pitching was their situational hitting and he's been a monster at that. Over .400 virtually the entire season in that instance.
Gio's been a godsend though. Even he got hurt, and when he was out, DJ filled in and we kept it moving.
