I have permanent permission to wfh. The newer employees have to come in like 2 or 3 days a week. I'm voluntarily going in once a week, as I don't mind getting out of the house and I have a 35 mins commute. Also go out for happy hour w a few of my colleagues.
I have 1h40mn commute lmao. So im not going to office anytime soon.

Back 5 days a week gang checking in from floor 47 :mjcry:
You'll be aiight, brotha. I am in 5 days a week myself but the commute is less than 3 miles and the name will be great on my resume. If you have an exit plan, just work toward that shyt. I know my move after this and there is/was a lot of remote positions for it. Just biding my time for now.

The Truth
the moment my spot says return to the office full-time, i'm quitting immediately
Only thing about my position is the required clearance level needed…

But thats still no excuse to pack an office full of sick people like sardines just because old white men want you to commute from home, arrive an hour early just to find parking, all so they can sit in the hallways and “socialize”.

Or get on their soap box and “talk”.

My director got it last week.. and his boss got it next. One dude was supposed to fly out overseas but caught it. My supervisor had it last month, I had it on 2 separate occasions, other people have it but not getting tested, etc.

same boat. this contract itself had that conditional added that if there's nothing we need to be doing, we can be working on other stuff like preparing presentations, etc elsewhere.

but just like you say too many people want to just make up reasons to go back on that so they can be somebody special at the office and bullshyt with other people who are career bullshytters. they are downright pathetic - and i know exactly what you're talking about making people come in, sick, and just look stupid between everyone else. even though its writing, they're trying to ease things back to before...

i quit a place before i even got to this spot :mjlol: people were calling in announcing they were taking covid tests in the parking lot but but but im good to go boss.

ridiculous and not normal

simple

Chose agendas for office days...ie when we are in the office these are the tasks that we want to get accomplished....AND NONE OF THOSE TASKS SHOULD BE A MEETING...meetings are zoom activities

On in office days the section manager has to report to the office as well(my guess is that this would REALLY tell us how serious they are instead of lip service)
Terrible idea 😂 Thats micromanaging, most jobs don’t have a specific task that NEEDS to be done weekly, and even if it did, everyone knows it can be done at home.

Most jobs actually ARE saying when we come in have meetings, and that’s honestly the only justification they have bc in-person mtngs are the only thing you can’t do from home

I don’t see myself ever working in an office again.

Granted it’s a fact I’ll never have to work in an office at my current job. If I decide to go elsewhere I’d only look for remote options

In our case we came back ONE day a week, with each team on different days. So in this big ass office suite you’d have 5-10 people in per day …and all of our work is independent of each other.

So our team lead realized it was BS, just a bunch of independent bodies, so he unofficially told us we don’t need to come in. I emailed him for clarification and he didn’t even want to put it in writing, he called me and I hit him with the say less. Off to Tulum
