Tu and Th is nonsenseMy company, an oil company, mandated that everyone return to work back in March. And a bunch of folks left. The company was all arrogant and high and mighty before but now all of a sudden they have a pilot program going and testing out two different work from home plans. The first is WFH Mon, Wed, Fri, and in the office Tu, Thu. The second plan is to work from home all but 2 days out of the month. I already know which plan everyone wants. LOL.

I wonder if this will change with the recession. I'm pondering a career move but my company is recession proof and I got a good job. I don't mind coming into the office a few times a week either. But I wanna capitalize on this competitive labor market cuz these 5% merit increases aint what's up

@hatealot can probably co-sign this postThat’s the direction of almost all companies unfortunately. And I get it…
1. They are cheap. Dirt cheap.
2. There is an abundance of them.
3. They typically have no career trajectory. So bonuses and promos are out of the picture.
4. The IST workday is US after hours. Important for production maintenance windows.
But then you have to be careful because…
9 out of 10 are frauds. They lie and cheat on literally everything. Resumes, exams, interviews…they have mastered cheating.
I hate saying shyt like that because it feels racist. But the only way you can properly vet Indians is with other Indians. You should hear some of the shyt I’ve heard about Indians from others Indians….they are shiesty as fukk

I entertained an interview the other week from another company that was only offering a partial wfh schedule (3 in office, 2 at home), on the way to the interview I had to deal with the rain, traffic, and finding a parking spot in midtown Atlanta. I already knew at that point that I wasn’t going to take the position if offeredBtw.. I just started at a new company. I did it for pay but mainly for other reasons outside of that as well…
Mainly to learn more and try to increase my value
Regardless, they’re rolling back on remote work. Even though I’ve been working remotely mostly since I started, this shyt aint it as far as coming into the office.
I literally have to wakeup at 330, just to be gone by 430 so I can be at work before 530…
Main reason why… TRAFFIC and PARKING. You literally have to park almost a mile away just to find a decent spot if you come in after 6.
I’m a disabled vet too.. not out of shape but leg issues was the reason why I got out. The main if not only reason. So the position I’m they’re putting me in literally is not work from home.. yet there are others that do it (mainly because of the shyt I have to do).
I’m already not feeling this part of the job. Plus, it’s no longer shift work. If it was shift, It would be easier imo. Nope, here doing the same rat race shyt again. I’m goving this about another month I think. If shyt doesn’t improve, I might even go back to the old gig because at least it was shift and at least I was able to miss the traffic and parking bullshyt I ran into before
. fukk the office. The raise wasn’t worth the headache of even driving to the office those 3 days, let alone the nonsense I would be dealing with working around those people.I'd take Wednesday and ThursdayI'd rather have two days back to back in the office instead of alternating.![]()

At this point, wfh should be mandatory. Idk how they think it beneficial to anyone and anyone’s peace of mind if it isn’t… even if it’s a few days.I entertained an interview the other week from another company that was only offering a partial wfh schedule (3 in office, 2 at home), on the way to the interview I had to deal with the rain, traffic, and finding a parking spot in midtown Atlanta. Depends on the industry. Some require some form of in-person interaction. At this point, wfh should be mandatory. Idk how they think it beneficial to anyone and anyone’s peace of mind if it isn’t… even if it’s a few days.
And yesh, I had a “hybrid” job in ATL.. shyt sucked regardless. Ended up quitting in less than a year. ATL traffic and bullshyt is unimaginably fukked up
Another thing I neglected to mention, the area has a huge turnover rate.. thats why they were so quick to try and hire me I see. And I wonder why….

They even got me going to Teams meetings at my desk at work....![]()
