One can argue the 80's was great due to many things happening developing music wise.
Aside from Jordan one of the greatest that people grew up watching and modeling their style after him,you had magic Johnson,Mike Tyson

Music :r&b, house music,rap was starting to come on it's on with various original style, graffiti,dj,hip hop dancers breakdancers were taking flight,
All that outside the box music categories new wave,no wave,new romantic, arena rock post punk , freestyle dance music not saying they all were created in the 80's some were developed late 70's but took flight and unfortunatelycrack and aids came alongbut music and sports 80's had memorable groundbreaking highlights and history

Dap up the 90s production while shyting on the 80s? Same people, just older and less edgy. As good as the 90s were, it was safe. No real outliers from there peers.

My hood went from tree lined streets & block parties to burned out lots and crack houses. Stepping on crack viles on the way to school and playing on the stoop because the school yard was ground zero for dope and guns was not enlightening by any stretch of the imagination.
