I like the idea of a smart watch. If you're a woman, you can keep your phone in your purse. If you're a man, it's not as useful, but you can still leave your cellie in your pocket, backpack, whatever especially when you're driving and you just want to see who messaged you. I use the same kind of Blutooth connection on my motorcycle to my GPS. You can take calls and everything without taking your phone out.

The BIG problem is the watch is a supplement, but they're charging premium prices for it. If it was $50 it's be a great addon.

I wouldn't consider 3 million sold a flop. That being said, the shyt is way too fukkin expensive and needs to be charged too often. No dice...
When I used one at the apple store it worked pretty well. Please don't compare that Android shyt to this watch..

I own 8 regular watches and 3 (soon to be 4) non-apple smart watches.

I wear a watch every day, I'm a gadget early adopter, and I make decent money. I was the perfect apple watch customer, but something about the rollout messed it up for me. I really wanted one, but to get a nice one with a metal bracelet you're already looking at like $800 with tax. And for a minute I was even willing to eat that just to have a new toy. But when it ended up being a month + and I still could couldn't get one I just said "eff it", I'll wait til the second generation.

Currently I still own an OG pebble, which holds a charge for 3+ days and pushes my notifications just fine. That's really the main use. I did the kick starter for the new Pebble Time Steel a few months ago, I should be getting mine by the end of July hopefully. I get a metal case and bracelet and 7 day battery life for less than half what it'd cost from apple. Plus pebble platform is still pretty well supported.

Many China brands... check dx.com

Also subscribe to Cowboom. I've gotten a Meta, Pebble, and Galaxy gear used from there. Never paid more than $99 for either of them and got all the accessories. Just check the sale emails in the morning.

Pebble Smart Watch for Select and Android Devices - Red - CowBoom.com They have it in a couple colors

MetaWatch FRAME Watch for iPhone and Select Android Mobile Phones - Black - CowBoom.com I have the older Meta, this is the new one and they have it for $35

LG - G Watch for Select Android Devices - White Gold - CowBoom.com

i got a fitbit :manny: thats about as smart as i need a watch to be. $500 is ridiculous. apple is like jordans to me just unnecessary and expensive vanity for the "look at me" crowd

thats actually pretty brilliant. whoever comes up with this first will win.

FYI, you can already do that. I've seen demos of the Tesla and BMW iwatch app in person. Sh!t is too cool.

Volkswagen, Mercedes and Volvo have joined BMW, Porsche and Tesla on the growing list of car companies that are offering apps compatible with the Apple Watch and that allow you to remote control certain features of your car.

I was at an IT seminar about 2 weeks after the watch first came out.
Dude I was sitting next to had one on, and everyone at the table was like:

"Oh, is that the new iwatch? :ehh:
Him: "Yeah, I got it the day it came out." :smugfavre: :obama:

The seminar was approximately 2 hours long, and I shyt you not....the dude didn't even so much as look at his watch - except for the initial time we asked him about it - not even to check the time..
fukking poser :camby:
ANYWAYS, I left the seminar thinking the watch was a complete waste.
I'd much rather have an AP, Hublot or a Tag Heuer.
