it is the voice of the masses, the tens and hundreds of millions of normal people that support that "hollywood shyt". that makes it what it is.

most famous female rappers .. nicki, cardi ...

most famous black actresses .. well let's just say - Viola Davis Says She's Lost Roles Due to Colorism

:hubie:
I know what it is but the point is what are we gaining from it and what’s the goal of degrading ourselves.

I can't have these kinds of conversations knowing that some people define light skinned as ayesha curry and others as rihanna. I've seen chicks that look medium shade, totally average black called light skinned and I just don't get it. Is light skinned whatever pretty bytch they wanna scapegoat at the moment? What are the parameters?

Of course we do.

Mostly from people who think we're all soft and bytches.

If you're a light-skinned breh/sis, you gotta learn how to fight or just learn how to avoid conflict. :francis:

For some reason, nikkaz take out their aggresssion at White folks on you instead of said White folks:francis:

White folks don't "like us" anymore than they "like" y'all. We're all nikkaz to them:manny:

I'm not saying dark-skinned folks don't get teased & made fun of or excluded, because I know y'all do, but most people assume y'all can fight, so they don't run up on y'all looking for a fight. :whoa:

Hell, dark-skinned bruhs can usually bluff their way out of a fight just be pretending they can fight:russ:

Whereas it's the opposite with us, folks assume we're punks, which is why a lot of us have to be extra and PROVE we can fight.

That's how you end up with dudes like Joe Louis & Muhammad Ali or Tank Davis. :manny:

I’ve seen light skin folks like steph curry repeatedly be called piss colored up here

I feel like you would get banned up here if you described a dark skinned person like that

Im not even light skin but if it ain’t acceptable one way how is it acceptable the other way

First I'm going to need people to define "light skin"

Because, when some people say light skin, they are talking about biracial people

Some people are talking about people who are WIll Smith's complexion and lighter

Others may exclusively be talking about Steph Curry type dudes, etc

Colorism doesn't exist in the black community anymore.

Colorism is a system.
Like racism.

Dark skin people can't practice colorism because they don't exclusively control resources and institutions in the black community where they can bar other black people.

The old historic blue veined bourgeoisie did. They had a system that barred darker skin black people from jobs, neighborhoods, churches, colleges, fraternities, scholarships, community organizations, and other beneficial networks.

That stopped during the Civil Rights/Black Power movements.

So colorism no longer exist because there is not one shade of blackness that mostly or exclusively controls resources and institutions like in years past.

Anti-black sentiments, biases, or prejudices exist. But those are not systems like colorism.
