That's not waht I said. You nikkas piss and moan everytime a parent tries to discipline their child. Whether it's something as extreme as this or a lesser alternative, you nikkas will say it wasn't right. So I asked you, what esle could be done? We're outta options at this point. Can't embarrass them becuz it fukks up their self esteem. can't kick their ass becuz they grow up to despise you. I understand talking to them, but how long must you talk before they experience the most extreme of consequences?
I've already said that I don't know what I would do. I'd be too distraught, especially if I know that I'm putting everything into making sure my child is a great human being. Guess what, kids do stupid shyt all the time. I did stupid shyt. I'm certain that you did as well. Kids don't always "take heed" regardless of the punishment. There's flaws in all of it.

Son was a little extra with it... Actually, a LOT extra... And this is coming from someone who caught the illest of beatings from my pops back in the day

My pops never hesitated to take that belt or ironing cord to my behind, but he also used to sit me down and talk to me about life. So there was a definite balance. I understand the beating administered to shorty because she was posting nudes online, but at some point it was kinda like "aight... you can stop now..."
I think we all just need to agree that there's different strokes (no pun intended). Some n1ggas in here acting like if you got the beats growing up then your parents were deserving of the WOAT parent award, and vice versa if you never got beat then you are somehow soft. I caught the beats quite regularly growing up, and I know I turned out fine, and speak glowingly of my parents and how they raised me. I have two sons, and they have a healthy enough fear of displeasing me and my wife that it's not very often that we have to put paws on them... In fact the last time I had to physically get at my oldest one was when he came sideways out his mouth to my wife. I came home and gave him the talk, threatened him, and told him that since he wanted to act like a grown man, and disrespect my wife, I was gonna treat him like one. I gave him a left to the shoulder and he was immediately like
and I let him know, "where did I hit you?" He pointed to his shoulder, and I let him know, "if you'd been a regular street n1gga disrespecting my wife, that would have been ya dome. And I wouldn't have stopped... 
Now, what hand did I use?" He said, "the left"... "I'm right handed. I hit you with the weak hand...I'm telling you all this to let you know you got off lucky. Now if you wanna find out what these hands is really about, keep disrespecting my wife" 
Later on he came to me and asked me why I approached him the way I did talking about "my wife" as opposed to "your mother"; and I told him the same thing my pops had told me: "before she was your mother, she is my wife, and NOBODY disrespects her". I got a little emotional in private afterwards because it was kinda appropriate, teaching my seed the same lessons my pops had taught me.

That asswhooping shyt needs to stop IMO. People swear by that shyt. I have had a few whoopings way worse than that one (I had one that lasted 15 mins once - even my lil bro cried). It didn't have a positive impact on how I turned out, all it did was piss me off and contemplate murder for a few hours but I got over it.

I worked around plenty of Doctors, Nurses, Therapists in hospitals etc. and i don't think i ever met one who thought this was how you raise children. The environmental and maintenance staff on the other handHow do you know?
