The attention to detail of Japanese people is crazy. Look at how they clean trains and subways

They fw us (brehs) out there? Not the women, just in general.

I had no issues. Everyone I interacted with in every modality was nice.

In Japanese the word for “Job” translates more like “duty” (that’s what was explained to me by my taxi driver :whoa:) so people take their occupations more seriously and are happier to do them. I couldn’t tip the drivers or restaurant people (or anyone really :mjlol:) they all thought it was me overpaying on accident

The train cleaner isn’t the only reason the train is clean. Japanese people are just cleaner in general compared to NYC and American people. They don’t litter. They don’t walk out of the house with scum on their body, and they don’t leave a mess on the train. NYC is just filled with trash people

This.

If you transplanted all the people from Tokyo to NYC and all the NYC people to Tokyo, in 6 months Tokyo would become phukin filthy and in about 1 year NYC would be immaculate.

The World, but from BK
They raised the price on the mta to $2.90 last week. I’ve taken 6 different trains in the matter of 2 weeks. 2 had no AC, 4 were delayed and 3 had mentally I’ll homeless yelling while cops posted up at the station entrance
In the grand scheme of things though , NYC subway system is the only 24/7 system with a flat (and very affordable) fee and free transfers. It also travels a very far distance for the cost.

As grimey as the NYC subway system is, when you factor the low cost + flat fee price+ free transfers + 24hr service it might be the best bang for your buck subway system. Also factor in at times you can just crawl under or hop the turnstile. Alot of other places have those plastic glass doors at the bottom that you have to wait to open in order for you to get thru. NYC subway system is extremely practical.

....I avoid it as much as possible though.:manny:

People that say that are comparing it to other American cities. Def the most efficient but not the cleanest. Chicago and DC system is cleaner to me.

Philly is pretty bad also as far as filthy

Been to Japan, Poland, and Germany and their trains and train stations are MUCH cleaner than ours (speaking on Philly, NYC, San Francisco, and DC).

The biggest difference imo is that they should do much money on train station restoration and actually replacing train cars. Our shyt is decades old. USA ain't shyt when it comes to that.

So much respect to Amtrak and NYC subway system but we can do a hell of a lot better.

My boy lived in Japan for about 5 years. He said the kids learn as young as pre-school how to be self-sufficient. In school, there's not really janitors like that. The kids do most of the cleaning. Which means they come up respecting their surroundings and don't litter or leave clutter around. Its as understood and fundamental to them as holding the door open for old folks is for us.

But also, that's a full time job. And that staff probably makes half-way decent money. There's no stigma around being a sanitation worker or cleaner. There's an understanding that it's a cog of society. Thus, people are much more willing to do something like this for a career.

I remember wondering how Tokyo was so clean and yet barely any garbage cans out in public. Come to find out they simply don't eat and drink whilst out traveling from point to point.

You eat/drink at home or an establishment, discard your waste right there and go about your business when ready. So simple yet so effective.

are you slow? I already said NYC is not the cleanest. I said it’s the most EFFICIENT IN AMERICA and that is CORRECT. Nyc subway runs 24 hours, takes you to 85% of the city and has express and local service.

Find another city with all of those combos.

The coli is filled with dudes who can’t comprehend simple English
Please be patient with them. 39% of the coli has self reported to being on the spectrum :francis:
