I usually get about 7-10,000 steps per day. I walk to the gym and then I just go on walks just because. So many health benefits to walking that many steps…. Which is why I don’t understand how people just sit inside all day.

Just making threads about nothing. :dead:
nikkas always gotta joke about shyt

“Hey everyone look at this guy talking about the average steps :laff: ” you sure got OP hahaha … lame nikka

That’s actually seems high to me. Between people who WFH and/or car-centric metro areas, people who don’t work and mostly sit at home…I’d be surprised if people are getting 2-3000
Days off where I didnt feel like hitting the gym or going outside(non work days) I have hit as low as 1900~ and thats with me walking back and forth to do things in home. 2-3k is exactly why folks are averaging even WITH work. They in the car or sitting as often as possible.

Even when I didn’t WFH, I had to make efforts to take laps through the building, walk the stairwell or parking lot to hit 10k or go walk the lake (3.5 miles). i worked out in the morning back then, but it was strength so while I got exercise, it wasn’t “steps”

Days I’m working & don’t go to the gym I’m barely cracking 3k. Now once I make that effort to hit the gym I’m easily clearing 10k

I prefer to take a few days off during the week & work out on the weekend but I’ve gradually been doing more 5 day work day gym sessions

Women a little bit less on average than men. Those numbers have always seemed crazy to me. On a bad day where I don't do shyt I'm still taking 7000+ and that's a day where I barely did anything lol.

What constitutes “barely did anything?”

If you wake up early, start your day at 7am, run 3 errands that requiring walking then yes you can rack up steps and still “barely do anything”. Just going to the mall for 40 minutes, going grocery shopping, and getting your child from school can rack up those steps by the end of the day.

But if you ACTUALLY did nothing and sat at home all day, 7,000 is unlikely.

When I wfh and don't run that day, i barely take 800 steps.

The days I go to work and don't run, I take around 4k

If you think about it... 2-300 feet in your crib in the morning. 100 feet to your car... 100-1000 to your job when you get out your car. 2-4000 walking around and up and down steps at work. 100-1000 back to your car. Another 2-300 feet at home. That's 6,500 feet being generous... GENEROUS...

I got like 30k when I ran warehouses. I rarely get over 7k unless I go to the gym.

Lol unless you're being extremely intentional (I.e. treadmill under desk or in vicinity, exercise, walks at lunch or after work), that # sounds pretty standard. Especially for those who WFH.

I've been an in-office worker and WFH (past few years) & no matter what, I had to do extra shyt to get 6k+ when it was all said & done. Only job I ever ran the steps up at like that was when I was pullin' dbl time at this airport/warehouse joint with constant movement.

Most people work sedentary office jobs tho.
