All Star
Beasties contribution to music as a whole puts them ahead of most rappers any day.
well what are you?
youre clearly not black. and im not basing that off of just your liking for this album.
License to Ill, Paul's Boutique, Ill Communication....all 3 are certified classics... and Hello Nasty and Check Your Head are easily 4-4.5 / 5 albums.
Let's not forget how their sound revolutionized an era and really gave birth to LL Cool J. Rick Rubin is still one of the most sought after producers in the game. And his/Beastie Boys sound is VERY distinct.
Mobb and Wu have some great albums but definitely not 3 certified classics. Only group that can rival Beasties greatness is Outkast... but again I think a strong case can be made on just how much influence these dudes had on Hip Hop during the Golden Years.
Black. But then if we're going on your criteria, I guess Chuck D isn't black, or Miles Davis, or Chris Rock, or Run DMC, who have all said that they loved PB.
I'll take their word over some dude who is still using his 1976 b-boy name as a username in 2015
Like I said breh, I'll let you cook. PB was cool to me back in high school, I know it's great but I haven't listened to it in years. If you wanna argue about it do your thing![]()
Dude I was of the only black people I knew that had PB in 89. Cats stop funkin with them mainly because a gang of dope ass rappers came out after ILL who were better and cats just weren't feelin "Hey Ladies" like that.youre not black. if you are, then you must have grew up as a token. cuz ive seen you posting here-n-there for years and everything about you screams WHITE. plus, if you were black then you wouldve came out and said it instead of beating around the bush.
and i didnt say NO black people liked PB. we're not monolithic. but the overwhelming majority do not rock with it. i dont care how many industry cosigns you can dig up - most of them being their friends. thats a go-to move for white folks or people that stay in the house because theyre not in-touch with whats really poppin out in the community.
this dude up here quoting miles davis.![]()

"Hey Ladies" was arite but this is what made me funk with PB

They were always corny.thats corny.
that whole album is corny. people didnt JUST stop rockin with them because of other rappers coming out. they played a part in phasing themselves out of the rap scene.
they haven't really been relevant in Hip Hop since 88 if we're being honest.GODDAMN CUZ... I just took this thread plat with a group that hasnt been relevant in HH since 1995

my next thread fittin go double plat... here's a preview Bone > Wu stay tuned cuzthey haven't really been relevant in Hip Hop since 88 if we're being honest.
Clearly harbors a certain criteria that black people must meet in order to be black. Goes on to say black people aren't monolithic yet claim that the majority of black people didn't fukk with PB. Is it oochie wally or is it one mic?
I wasn't beating around the bush. I tried to talk to you about PB v. LTI. You didn't know what you were talking about in regards to the Beasties, and you were out of your depth. Then you started going on a crusade about white people.
The mask has completely slipped with you, dust is a helluva drug![]()
They were always corny.
Rap fans started moving past the corn
Cats were busy funking with the Golden Era EMCEEs. There were more dope EMCCEs and dope albums that came out after Beastie's debut.
I agree they played a part especially with their 3rd album. I bought that but I couldn't get with at the time because nothing on sound or came close to
You do know this thread was done before. Don't do this to yourselfmy next thread fittin go double plat... here's a preview Bone > Wu stay tuned cuz
