I can't handle sours. One of my boys loves sours. Man anytime he hosts something you know he gonna try and sneak in a couple of sours.
Sours and ciders if they don’t have sours on hand. It’s definitely an acquired taste but I prefer my drinks to be tart. Not really a big thing in NJ, but New England is known for a lot of them and there is a lot of variety up there vs my or your specialty store. I used to love wheat beers but my palate has changed a lot.

Well it was beer day again. And I gotta pass one of my spots on the way home. So I picked up

Red Horse from San Miguel Brewery. Got this at Craft prices but this shyt is a fukkin steel reserve in disguise!!

crop

I mean I guess it's a lager but that motherfukkin Bull from Schlitz might as well run up in here 8% abv so it's a malt liquor. Darker than a Bud Ice but I feel it vibes with a Bud Ice. I loved Bud Ice back in college. Like from the bottle it didn't have that ice/metallic flavor was even kind of sweet. And this is like that but definitely a heavier alcohol level not as sweet on the finish. If you want something with an extra kick, that's not skunky and smooth drinking. This fits the bill.
the pinoys I use to work with put me on

Didn't pick em up last week. So I decided to grab em this week on beer day at the spot.

picked up the Vanilla Pumpkin Ale from Schlafly's (The Saint Louis Brewery). Style is Pumpkin/Yam Beer. The vanilla notes come out more in the second pour, but the first was all Pumpkin/nutmeg etc. ABV is 8% the package described it as a desert beer. And while not that sweet in my opinion, I do agree that it would likely go well with some sweet potato/or pumpkin pie. I'm not a drink and desert mixer but I see the vision.

would likely pick up again over the fall season.

little bumpy bump. It's a Tall Can Saturday Terps won their first conference game of the season.

calls for a beer on the evening. Today's Tall can is a black lager from Kostritzer Shwarzbier out of Germany. It's light in flavor but dark and smooth. Definitely hits the spot for the evening.

Having a little night cap beer and had this one sitting in the fridge for a bit. Figured crack it open.

Echigo Stout by the Echigo Beer Co. I'll have to double check but this is the first stout I've had from a Japanese Brewery. The ABV is 7% this pours really smooth. Hits all the roasted notes you want out of a stout, feels a little bitter on the end, but not anything that would detract from drinking it.

Peanut Butter & Marshmallow Imperial Cream Ale.

:whoo:

I'd definitely would have to try at least one of those. If it isn't too sweet I could probably drink more.
It's not sweet at all. They sell it at the phoenicia market near me but often times, it's sold out quick.

Taste like if an espresso martini (without the simple syrup) and ipa had a baby.

Not seen that brewery label in my area. But, noted if I come across it. I'll definitely pick them up.

Beer Day so figure put up the night cap beer.

Picked up the Kaiser Imperial Oktoberfest by Avery Brewing Co. Style is Marzen and the ABV is 8%. Nice amber color, no bitter after taste or "spice" heavy notes in this one. Also the 8% is subtle so doesn't feel heavy at all. That could be a bad thing.

I pick this up yesterday I like it. I drank 2 bottles. The 1st pour wasn’t much of a difference than Schlafly’s normal seasonal pumpkin ale. But I definitely tasted the difference with the second bottle because I allowed it to cool in the fridge longer.

My other purchase from beer day:

Picked up the Pure Pils by KC Bier Co style is Pilsner and the ABV is 4.8%. Pilsners are one of my fall back styles that I feel you pretty much always know what you're going to get. And this is no different. I will say that despite it's light ABV there is something in the finish that doesn't make it feel crushable. You know like you just get done mowing the lawn. You crack this can it's missing that ahhh hit the spot.

Motherfukkin Terps lost. So might as well grab some beers for Tall Can Saturday. Today's tall can is the Oktoberfest from Sandhills Brewing. ABV is 6.1%. They brewed this with a Pilsner and it comes through on this one. It's light and malty didn't pour it out so don't know it's color. But, the Pilsner base seems to be washing out any of the normal Marzen notes. Will be interested in how a second tasting of this beer plays profile wise.
