I feel like Black Messiah should qualify as a comeback album for the fact that he hadn't put an album out in almost 15 years

but Dre was already a known powerhouse, was working in between Chronic and 2001 ... had signed Eminem, 2pac a few years prior, Friday Soundtrack and all of those DPG artists etc, Snoop and Let me Ride in 1994


Jay - Volume 2 was his actual pop beginning, he wasnt popular on Reasonable Doubt or Volume 1 to the masses

^^^ This was definitely a comeback. T.I. vs. T.I.P. was widely considered a dud. It was less successful than King. T.I. caught those gun charges and was facing jail time. He was being dissed by Shawty Lo. This dropped and not only put him back to where he was with King, it is his biggest album. Some say one of his best.
