Somebody from the American Institute for Human Rights just contacted me. I have her number if anybody's interested in furthering this.
I just sent the info on to two Gullah reps and I'm in the process of contacting the World Heritage Organization along with Unesco.
I'm not surprised at all. I've contacted alot of activists and so called "Pro-black" celebs endlessly only to be meant with crickets. It's disheartening to see only a few on social media really care about this issue but see everybody tweeting and cheering standing rock.
It gives off the impression that black folk don't care about their own people until it's trendy and that counts for celebs and activists as well. Now could they be doing something behind the scenes? Sure. But I haven't seen too many mentions or tweets about the gullah losing their land.
But I did get a break through with Rep Clyburn and Gullah representatives. I'm gonna use tonight as a way to really put some work in. I got my God daughter this weekend so I should have some time (hopefully)
Those are the same ones harping on about intersectionality.
Dude is a real one. He came through without hesitation while all the twitter "black activists" been quiet as church mice. Won't even dedicate as much as a retweet to the Gullah.
Tariq is one of many I'm disappointed with, even though he did catch me off guard with that. I wasn't expecting that from him. Dude has become the same fake "pro-black" media type he likes to talk about. And I hate to say that because I like Tariq and I've supported his work. But that really exposed him for me.
He's always been about fukkery so that side of him will never change. But he's definitely trying to break into that political race commentator role on tv. More power to him but his credibility is shot imo (at least from perspective).

Monday I'll share with all the parents in my daughter's play group. They have $$ so Ill be asking for a donation. Ill ask my husband to donate as well.
