it really is sad living right by the geechie land how much of the land has been grabbed up by big developments be it for snowbirds or other business activity and of course none of it benefits the geechie or tries to preserve their heritage

I wanted to peek back in this thread to see how things have gone? I don't know who Curtis Scone is but I suppose its a good thing he retweeted if yall talking about it. Have any news organizations expressed interest? I know al Jazeera doesn't air on TV here anymore but it does in the rest of the world, maybe try contacting "The Stream" and see if they would be interested in the topic for a discussion on the show. I think the main thing is to begin to build up the momentum for this to become viral so more can be done to fix the problem.
Perhaps you can use little factoids about the situation in tweets in order to feed morsels of information. I remember when we went after that white cop and how draining it could be to go on a social media campaign. But I'd say it's still a good look to push it as aggressively as possible. The main thing is to try to get more media outlets to pick it up and for more of those big name twitter users to retweet and take interest in the story.

I've contacted all the major players associated with the DAPL including the tribe representatives themselves. I've even contacted news outlets congressmen, reps, celebs, activists etc. Curtis Sc00n is a filmmaker with some good connections like Chuck D and Micheal Eric Dyson (I've contacted them too). Lupe made a tweet about it too. And I've also used factoids of info as well as vids about the Gullah as well.
But I obviously can't do it alone which is why I needed the coli to get involved. Alot of the activists on twitter don't really care about it.

Nice. I'd try to find new angles that haven't been exploited, perhaps create a tumblr page to give people a chance to absorb the info at one source then give them resources to contact or get involved with the movement.
I've been home sick for the past few weeks but I'm definitely looking to bring this shyt up and enlighten everyone when I get back to work. I feel like bringing this up to the people I work for can help a lot because they're pretty well connected. Plus where I work is a hub of Black information with people passing through from the different campuses, tourists, and the conscious community in the DMV. Maybe slide a tweet to Ava DuVernay she's definitely into this kinda shyt, hit up the Chuck D's and the Common's of twitter and IG so they can have the chance to either get involved or not. This can definitely gain traction breh, when I get back to work I want to see if I can pass this on to Julie Dash through the grapevine. Figure this would be close to her given her background in the area.
Yeah, I've been putting in some work with the little time I have. I've been in constant contact with the Gullah Nation and Gullah reps. Just need more people to do the work.

That's a really good idea breh about the Tumblr page. I've already contacted Ava DuVernay, Chuck D and Common. I'm just waiting for a response from them. I'm gonna start contacting more black intellectuals and teachers next week. Greg Carr definitely knows about this because he retweeted a few of my tweets but he hasn't returned my messages and emails. But we could definitely use your help.

No sweat I'ma definitely help, I'm just tryna figure out how lol. Yall did a lot of the work it's about spreading awareness, I'ma just look to pass this on to the right people breh. Part of what helped us when we were doing that shyt was that we were relentless about the shyt and used as many angles as could be thought of. No homo, why not slide into some DMs? Not everybody, but the ones that can provide more impact to this shyt like DAPL protesters, pundits/activists, media and entertainment types. Also get the smaller media involved too, one of them has to bite on the story to start a chain reaction.
