Absolutely not. I’ve seen enough off dude that I know he ain’t cut out for more responsibilities.
He created a lot for himself in NJ that first year and in Phoenix once he found his confidence. He actually played well most of the time, but it was the most unassuming 18ppg ever. Hell, Randle mostly ran the offense last year until he was hurt, and Hart did it a lot this year. There's no way he can be any more erratic. Besides, OG can't handle the ball and Payne/McBride aren't true PGs.

I don't think we're championship yet, but we aren't treadmill either. We're in between. Indiana was a bad match up. They're unpredictable, incredibly stubborn, and driven. They don't really have a system, and other than taking turns attacking KAT & Brunson, they didn't have a strategy. They're the Island of Misfit Players. That's how they beat everyone else. We couldn't get a stop when we needed to against them...due to lack of defensive effort. They got like 10 wide open layups last night.

Salute to Mitch. Him along with OG Anunoby were the most impactful Knicks during this run

Longest tenured Knick and the only one still here from when we were terrible.

What's sad with his injury is that he was just hitting his stride in the play-offs. He was getting better every round tbh.

I never liked the Thibs hire but can acknowledge the team has consistently done well overall during his tenure.

This organization has taken steps to improve its scouting, cap management and accumen, as well medical staff over these last 5 years. They have a coach and culture the team buys into. They've brought in offensive talent to offset Thibs' old school philosophy. Now they need to scheme it accordingly.

They have a full summer to get this together. To learn from their mistakes. To better prepare for what will be a more open Eastern conference.

Contractually, Brunson, KAT, OG and Hart are likely the core pieces coming back, with Kolek and Dadiet as the remaining long term contracts off the bench.

Mikal, Mitch are both in their last year, Deuce has 2 cheap years left and has high value. They're the easiest assets to move and get some value for to try to fortify the bench.

Whether they keep that core 7 together or move the moveable pieces, if the plan is to keep Thibs, they NEED to bring in another voice to focus on their offensive approach this summer and get the ship right. This ISO ball can't stand any more. Your two best players have too much offensive talent with obvious defensive limitations, you have to maximize their time on the court together. Surround them with complimentary defensive pieces and build a scheme that maximizes the offensive talent you have.

This was great experience and bulletin board material for an open East next year. Remember the doubt. Remember the smirks. Remember the cellys.

Get to the Finals next year. Or blow it up.

McBride and Robinson should both be back…

You’d be hard pressed to find better players at their price. I think McBride is due for a bigger role and if we keep KAT, Robinson should assume his starting responsibilities once more.

We need a legit back up big man it would have been nice to have added Goga once Hartenstein left :francis:

I’d put Anunoby, Bridges, and Hart on the trade block and listen to offers and and if not I’d strongly consider moving KAT for KD.

Why would you trade OG when he's your best defender

Can’t blow game 1. Home court has been awful for the Knicks in general. Too many financiers, tech bros and celebs.. not enough Knick fans in MSG.
This the part that always annoys me the most, as a team gets better and popular the fans get priced out. I get it but it’s still frustrating, the amount of dikk riders in attendance is ridiculous.

giving thibs more tweaked rosters so he won’t attempt to troubleshoot throughout the season, once again. Dudes wanna shuffle the deck of the titantic when thibs is going to steer you into an iceberg anyway
That's why I think it's INSANE when I hear people say alter the roster/hire an offensive coach lol. I highly doubt Thibs is going to fully change himself or his flawed fundamental approach to the game. We saw how he "changed" the starters, only to have the same flawed lineup closing the game. That's insanity. You can give him all the tools & voices he needs, & he'd still find a way to not use them to go with what he's comfortable with unless his back's against the wall.

I don't know how anyone could watch his tenure here (and especially this season) and not come away with that
