So Tim Duncan wasn't a superstar? Hahahahaha

Yeah, ya'll don't watch basketball. Ya'll are fans of ESPN, Fox Sports, E Hollywood, and the rest of the media. Casuals

Bruh, Tristan Thompson is more famous than 99% of the league. So I guess he’s a superstar, huh? This logic is ridiculous lol. We’re talking basketball and you’re bringing up shyt that has nothing to do with the game.

And even then, JT been top 5 in jersey sales for awhile now

All I said is Ja has gotten more PR than Tatum this season. He's been in hella commercials and shyt and has gotten a lot of celebrity cosigns this year. Never said he was a better player. Yall nikkas sensitive.

And yes fame off the court contributes to superstardom. Tim Duncan wasn't really a superstar in his era, Shaq was, KG was, Kobe was, etc. and it had everything to do with how high profile those guys were off the court vs. on the court.

Would you agree that there are separate popularity, accolade, or accomplishment thresholds that players have to cross to become superstars?

Which of those ladders has Tatum climbed in his career at this point?

You labeled him a superstar.

Multiple Allstars selections, has gone deep in the playoffs at a young age, top 5 in jersey sales, probably gonna make nba first team, the eye test. He checks all the boxes.

The 2 go hand and hand. Great player + celebrity profile = superstar

To me a superstar is bigger than just the game. Mike Trout is one of the greatest baseball players ever and has never really been a superstar, but Ohtani has been playing like 2 or 3 years and he's already well known beyond the game.

Tatum has commercials and a signature shoe with Jordan Brand. A top selling jersey. How is he not a Superstar.

He got Subway for sure and pretty sure i see Tatum in Gatorade now too but i don't even follow that nonsense.. this place has turned into a hybrid of ESPN/E! and that's pretty bad for a forum of mostly men...

The only true superstars are Bron, Steph, KD, Giannis, Kawhi and Embiid. Tatum is a star

Wtf. So what do you call the reigning 2 time MVP Nikola Jokic? If you’re a top 10 player right now in the nba then you’re a superstar period. That’s obvious.

Lebron isn't a superstar anymore. And Steph is nearing the end of his Superstar reign

The rest I agree with

Come on breh that’s a silly statement to make. How is LeBron not a superstar but Steph is? You realize LeBron was much better than Steph all across the board this year right? It wasn’t even close.
