They lost to the SB champs in 2015 and 2016. No shame there.

The one major wart on his playoff record was the 2017 divisional loss to Jacksonville. Inexcusable loss to fukking Blake Bortles
That's not the only one, losing to the Tebow Broncos in 2011(?), was embarrassing and inexcusable.

When we talk playoff losses, Tomlin has his share of ugly L's.

Just checked, yes it was '11. Those Broncos were 8-8 and got beat by the Pats by FIVE TOUCHDOWNS the following week 🤣

I respect him, but word to my thread, there is a case against Tomlin that he has underachieved as much as anyone can argue he overachieved. He's got some disastrous losses on the resume that woulda got alota mf's fired most other places, way before he gets to 19 years.

To be fair, they were down a starter out the gate due to medical issues and didn’t they lose a bunch of guys during the game as well?

I think you're right, gotta refresh myself on that game real quick, but I definitely remember watching the game and thinking, they should not be losing to the fukking Broncos.

I kept waiting for them to do what the Rams did on Saturday, they were in a dogfight with the Panthers who came to play, and down the stretch they snapped out of it on both sides and made the winning plays.

That '11 Steelers/Broncos game was just like this '25 Rams/Panthers game, except the Steelers never tightened up. Heavy favorites going in too, I do think they lost someone in the game, but bruh, they were waaayyyyy better than the Broncos. Imagine what we'd have said if the Panthers won that game the other day.

That's how I felt when the Steelers lost to Denver (also the year before, that loaded Saints team losing to 7-9 Seattle, same shyt).

Road playoff games are not easy. They were on the road, Clark can't play at elevation due to sickle cell, they lost a bunch of guys... sure they should've won but I get it.

The Rams can win the SB this year and they were in the fight of their life with the shytty ass Panthers.

That Jaguars game was an embarrassment, especially since the Jags had beat them a few weeks earlier and talked cash shyt to them. Losing at home and giving up 45 points was unacceptable

I get it but honestly I feel like this is revisionist, softening the real time perception of that loss.

The Steelers did lose 4 other starters in that game. In real time I still remember being shocked that they lost.

For the record, the Rams just went into Carolina on Saturday with 6 rotational guys inactive, and Stafford played with a hurt throwing hand. If they woulda lost it wouldn't have been, "well 6 of their guys were out, Stafford was hurt".

It woulda been embarrassing.

Feel free to put the microscope of roster detail on every heavy favorite that lost to a clearly inferior team in playoff history....the Steelers were not supposed to lose that game.

I could forgive it if Tomlin's playoff resume improved after that, but 14 years of work after that game, his resume got worse.

I said this before, during the beginning of his career I wanted him gone because of the constant playoff losses when they had Bell, Brown and Ben. People called me crazy but I felt like he wasn't a disciplinary figure and left it to the assistants and the respective captains. Later on I think he figured it out (most likely because he learned from his mistakes) but at that point they just didn't have the roster in place to succeed in the playoffs.

That Jaquar loss was what had me PISSSED

I live in Jax. I caught pure hell from the Jags fans.

Came to work and they had my cubicle shrink wrapped in teal Saran Wrap with a million teal and black styrofoam packing peanuts I could not even see my desk or my computer.

I was still finding random packing peanuts in my cubicle 6 months later :mjcry:

They also lost Rashad Mendenhall in week 17 to an ACL tear. The team was pretty short handed by the 4th quarter.

The 2010 Saints were NOT loaded. :pachaha:

We didn't even have a running game (which is why Sean P. drafted Ingram in the 2011 Draft). :francis:

Okay bruh 🤣 eveb without that word "loaded", yall were not supposed to lose to the Hawks.

We can do this revisionist game for every heavy favorite that lost to a bad team or clearly inferior team. I remember how mf's looked at these L's in real time 🤣

The bolded is correct :francis:; however, injuries on both sides of the ball did us in (ESPECIALLY on Defense). :snoop: :mjcry:
