If music is universal (and it's not...LMFAO if you think country music fans or the black metal scene would accept your black ass) then so is film and all other art. How come all the nice Hollywood white people in the "melting pot" seldom employ black actors and almost never film anything related to the black experience unless it's negative??? Where are all the black women in fashion (this is the "melting pot" after all)? How come Human Resources in most organizations in the "melting pot" don't employ people who look like us ? I thought everything was universal ?

You can bring up "demographics" and "purchasing power" but that would only kill your lame argument that America is a melting pot where everyone shares everything and gets along.

Hip Hop does have "deep" African roots. It was pioneered by a Jamaican man in South Bronx and is a take off of Jamaican toasting and call and response which is in turn a take off of the chanting of west African griots. And Hip Hop is huge all over Africa (I went last year).

Also, Non-American black music like Trip Hop and Drum n Bass have also been usurped .
