I'm sorry OP but I disagree. The information given is important. For generation after generation the Black Man in particular has been denied his rightful place in history. His story more than most has been told and reinforced as a slave, buffoon, sexual aggressive, less than human being. Now you have other Black Men saying that history is not concrete and that YES we were Kings and Queens. You cannot ignore this blight on a people's history. As if Black people's history only began after 1960 with MLK JR... And if they want to feel superior because of the history that is good for them, when they should have been proud in the first place! The Sphinx's nose was shot off and then you have Elizabeth Taylor portraying Cleopatra. The fact that we are still considered second class citizens in this country shows that more than ever...WE need to know WHERE we came from to KNOW where we are going. Now, if you don't believe me on that the second class citizen quip I made earlier..
1. Take a look at where the government puts it's priorities.
2. Sandy Hook had to happen for this country to even consider gun laws, while Black on Black gun violence is the way it is every day.
3. Endangered Phrase....Black Owned Business
4. Prison Population and the rates of incarceration.
5. Mainstream Hip Hop aka The Ministrel Show
It goes on and on, I don't have the info or an expert or anything but as a Black Man who has survived in America, any information about our history is good money for me.
Mothafukkas still celebrating Columbus Day and people have issues with Black Knowledge!?!?
edit...
There is always room for knowledge
