Y'all think Shumpert will start the next game? He's the Cavs best on-ball defender & one of the few of them playing without fear.

One of LeBron's greatest gifts can also be a detriment in terms of team construction.

LeBron has always been praised for his ability to run a team with his facilitating and high basketball IQ. This is undisputed facts. With that said, LeBron's inability (or is it unwillingness?) to play offball and let the game come to him on occasion means that his teams can be overly dependent on him. So when LeBron sits, the system sits. Is it that LeBron co-stars can't play winning basketball without him due to limitations in their own games, or is it because they've literally had no experience within their current team structure being tasked with developing their cohesiveness without the "LeBron System". Is it really that Wade + Bosh or Kyrie + Love ain't shyt without him, or have they been conditioned to not be shyt without him due the above? In a way, while LeBron has allowed Kyrie to flourish in his natural talent as an otherwordly scorer, it may have stunted his growth as a facilitator.

I feel similarly about Chris Paul's ball dominance. The difference is that him and Blake have both been injured on different occassions so often that LAC has learned how to run the team around Blake even when CP3 is hurt. I also wish Russ would let Oladipo control the offense more and also get Adams more touches (who I thought was going to make a big jump after last year's playoffs), but I'll fall back on that cuz I'm not tryna get into it with Loose.

Going back to my original LeBron narrative, on the flip side, Kevin Durant does not need to dominate the ball to be the best player on the court. On the contrary, KD's game allows for others to do their thing and he still finds way to have the most impact on the court. KD has the handle the facilitating ability to to also set others up, and does so in spots, but why would he do that all the time with teammates like Curry and Westbrook? Would be silly...

So with all that said, to those that feel you could swap LeBron for KD and they'd be even better, I actually disagree...strongly. They'd be worse because LeBron is nowhere near the offensive force KD is, he's not as versatile defensively, and the offense wouldn't flow as seamlessly.

Yeah, LeBron makes his teammates better, but his game also tends to stunt their growth to the point where their ceiling is a highly talented auxiliary component that loses their functionality when the masterboard is shut off for rest.

I hope so, JR giving us nothing right now. Would be better to at least have some extra defense and maybe JR can catch a spark off the bench
