Warriors in 6

The hype is real. They can fukk up this finals and make it unwatchable. Straight 2017 WCF/ECF status.

I can easily see Warriors up 20, then both teams trade runs until Warriors win by 15. Every game. Cavs got mad ways to collapse: bench combines for for 10 pts, Love can't score, Tristan can't make his hustle plays, Lebron jumper gone, etc.

If the Cavs can even keep it within striking distance til the 4th will be a real challenge.

538 has Cavs as a 10% shot to win the Finals.

Even Trump's chances were three times higher than that. :francis:

Curry and Durant have the last three MVPs, but if they play well then Lebron and Kyrie can offset them.

Think about that for a second - you have to START by having your best two players offset the last couple MVPs combined.

The question is, how the hell does the rest of the lineup outscore the Warriors? Love always gets dominated by Green, JR ain't nowhere near Klay's league, Iggy is a better two-way player than anyone on the Cavs' bench, and Livingston is a bigger matchup problem than anyone the Cavs got. Any offensively focused lineup the Cavs go with has to include some combination of Deron, Korver, Frye, or Love, all guys who SUCK at defense, while almost everyone on the Warriors plays both ways.

For the Cavs to win, you have to have the offense firing on all cylinders (meaning Lebron and Kyrie combining for 60+ AND multiple other guys stepping up), and then you have to shut down at least two of Golden State's big four without someone off the bench making up for the gap.

How many times ya'all really think that's going to happen?

Someone predicting a Cavs win give me the scoring averages for the series. Tell me how many points you think each player is going to average that somehow ends up with Cleveland outscoring Golden State.

kyrie is gonna have to average more than Lebron for the Cavs to win this series
and even then the Bench is gonna have to play defense

Just wanna note that over 50% of the board is taking the Cavs :youngsabo:

So when the Dubs beat them like a drum I don't wanna hear "LeBron didn't have a shot, the most he could do is make the finals :manny:"
Exactly!!!! If the Warriors are that stacked how the fukk is so many people predicting the Cavs will in? They can't use that excuse if they lose.

Cavs

Bron and Kyrie probably neutralise KD and Steph.
Klay been struggling to get his shots like before and I dont think Mike Brown can then draw up an offensive for the next guy to step up

Keep in mind with FiveThirtyEight they're using full season Elo Ratings (Elo rating system - Wikipedia). I'm not sure if they're using exponential smoothing to put more weight on recent games. If they were using simply playoff numbers their numbers would be much different.

My model is similar but it gives GS a 78% chance of winning.....although I do have GS as 11 point favorites in game 1. My playoff numbers has this series at basically a PICK with Golden State at a Slight favorite of 2 in their home game.

Very surprised by the pro-Cav poll results right now. :whoo:

You know this board is anti Golden State

It's 79-74 right now for the Warriors.

Furthermore, over half of those that voted for Golden State (42/79) predict a quick series of 4 or 5 games, compared to only 2 people predicting the same for the Cavs.
